More than 562 companies have set up on 272,700 square feet in the Las Vegas Convention Center to kick off the 2016 SGIA Expo. Exhibitors from around the world are showcasing the newest equipment, technologies and applications for wide-format printing, apparel decoration, printed packaging, industrial imaging, installation and related imaging market segments such as custom packaging solutions, new narrow-format labeling equipment and new digital-to-garment inkjet machines.
“It’s been an incredible start to the three-day event,” said Ford Bowers, SGIA President and CEO. “There are already thousands of attendees crowding onto the show floor, the energy is incredibly high and the strength of the SGIA community is evident.”
The record-breaking Expo opened at 9:00 am today to a preregistered attendance of 23,000 — 46 percent of whom are first-time attendees.
Other numbers of note:
17 percent are International attendees
63 percent identify as graphic printer attendees
25 percent are garment printers
9 percent are industrial printers
2 percent are installers
2 percent print electronics
The Expo offers 40 educational sessions, including several panels affectionately dubbed the “dream teams” — industry experts who will speak on various topics such as production and business management strategies.
In addition, Golden Image and Product of the Year winners were chosen yesterday, and results can be found online at SGIA.org.
