The ISA Wrap Experience in partnership with Justin Pate, The Wrap Institute, and Avery Dennison – Graphics Solutions, will bring together wrap experts and wrap novices for an experience that is competitive, instructional and, of course, fun. The event, part of the Never Stop Learning education program by the Wrap Institute, debuts at ISA International Sign Expo 2019 in Las Vegas.
Pate, widely regarded as the expert in vehicle wraps, will moderate three instructors who will train teams in wrap skills. This one-of-a-kind competition includes hand-on learning about material selection, application and finishing techniques. At the end of each round, the group will be judged on the quality of wrap and knowledge while the instructor will be judged on the quality of teaching. Prizes also will be awarded at the end of each day.
“This event is an ideal way to incorporate learning with a little friendly competition,” said Craig Campbell, director of strategic initiatives for the International Sign Association. “Whether a participant has never held a squeegee or is creating wrap masterpieces already, they will pick up tips and techniques to grow their business in this area.”
Pate will be on hand between sessions to offer advice and guidance.
“A lot of recent research shows this as an industry that presents tremendous growth opportunities,” Pate said. “People who wrap love the creativity, skill and challenge that comes with each project. The ISA Wrap Experience will be a way to for the participants and people watching from the audience to learn new techniques and tips that will help them transform the world around them with color and imagination.”
In all, there will be a variety of substrates and application stations available for the ISA Wrap Experience with films and tools provided by Avery Dennison. Instructors will train in groups of three; a total of 27 spots daily are available for this extremely limited opportunity. The training sessions will last 90 minutes, allowing participants plenty of time to explore the other products and events available at ISA International Sign Expo 2019.
“Wraps provide an incredible business opportunity, especially for printers who have the necessary equipment to add or expand into this area,” said Bill Podojil, Vice President Avery Dennison NA – Graphics Solutions. “To have the chance to be advised and work directly with the world’s most skilled expert in this area is not to be missed.”
