Specialty Graphic Imaging Association Show
This year’s Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) trade show is held in Las Vegas, NV from October 18 to 20, 2012 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The expo boasts influential networking events, education sessions, advice zones, and an array of exhibitors.
Advanced Greig Laminators, Inc (AGL), booth 647, demonstrates its 64 Series laminator as well as an Encore series laminator. The company showcases its environmentally friendly Cover-Rite V4.75T overlaminate. It invites attendees to bring printed samples to the booth to be laminated and see AGL’s entire line of laminates, media, and adhesives designed specifically for wide format.
Advantage Sign Supply, booth 2379, is a nationwide supplier of sign making equipment and supplies from major manufacturers including 3M, Avery, Epson, Gerber, GFP, Graphtec, Hewlett-Packard, Mimaki, and Oracal. It delivers exceptional customer service, technical support, and training.
Beaver Paper & Graphic Media Inc., booth 3159, delivers a selection of TexPrint Sublimation Papers for digital inkjet sublimation print platforms for water- and solvent-based printers. Widths range from 17 up to 130 inches including all cut sheet sizes. A new lineup of TexStyles Imaging Fabrics for sublimation direct and transfer printing platforms is now available up to 122 inches. Cost-effective protection tissue for calendar heat presses, ProTex, is available in widths from six to 130 inches. All products are up to industry standards and compatible with OEM inks, printers, and heat presses.
Clear Focus Imaging, Inc., booth 2958, features several interior-mount, pressure-sensitive, clear window graphics films, including a 6.5-mil clear version of its popular value-priced EconoVue 60/40 window perf. Designed for visual merchandising and architectural applications when greater image transparency is desired, DecoVue is a 6-mil premium window graphics film. Interior/exterior-mountable PVSee is an unperforated, 3.5-mil gloss clear vinyl.
Cyrious Software, booth 629, displays Cyrious Software’s Control. The program allows users to estimate jobs while tracking actual costs, managing production, and automating daily tasks. View hundreds of reports, monitor inventory levels, integrate shipping, and accounting. Live demonstrations are held at the booth.
D&K, booth 129, exhibits its line of wide format laminators including the Expression 42+ and Expression 63. Also on display is the company’s high-speed Double Kote Jr. laminating system that laminates at speeds of up to 50 feet per minute. D&K also showcases its line of mounting adhesives and laminating films.
DaVinci Technologies, booth 434, is a one-stop shop for digital printing needs, supplying everything from PSA vinyl and laminates, window perf, recyclable paper media, to application tools and cleaning supplies. DaVinci continues to provide well-known brands such as ClingZ, Continental Grafix, conVerd, MACtac, and Rollepro. Warehouses in CA and CT stock a growing selection of products.
EFI, booth 2413, features its VUTEk, EFI Wide Format, and Jetrion lines of inkjet presses, together with the EFI Fiery proServer. The new VUTEk HS100 Pro high-speed press and EFI R3225 UV roll-to-roll printer are highlighted in the booth. The company also showcases its inkjet workflow that fully integrates Web-to-Print and print management information systems with Fiery XF RIPs and qualifying EFI inkjet printers.
Fisher Textiles, booth 2747, one of the leading suppliers of fabrics for dye-sublimation, UV, latex, and direct digital printing has on hand all of its fabrics for backlit, flag, point of purchase, banner stand, awning, outdoor, and apparel. Print demonstrations are featured on a Hewlett-Packard Scitex LX850 latex printer within the booth throughout the duration of the show.
Foster Keencut, booth 801, is a leading source for special cutters and trimmers for wide format graphics used in signs and displays. GCC, booth 4535, introduces GCC Expert 52 and Expert 52 LX cutting plotters. With a cutting width of up to 52 inches these models produce eye-catching graphics with up to 15.7 inches per second cutting speed, 250g of cutting force, and 9.84 feet of tracking ability. In addition, GCC Expert 52 LX also features a standard advanced Accu-Aligning System to guarantee precise contour cutting by detecting the registration marks.
Giant Media, booth 3673, is a service first provider committed to bringing the highest quality, service, and value in the industry. Hewlett-Packard (HP), booth 2035, exhibits its large format printing portfolio, highlighting the 165x126-inch HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press that boasts a new point of purchase print mode to produce 55 full boards an hour and an optional white ink kit to expand its application range. HP Latex products on display include the HP Designjet L26500 and L28500 Printers, featuring new platen covers that improve loading media for high-value soft signage and temporary textile production.
InteliCoat Technologies, booth 2683, showcases products including its GBL-9 satin backlit film, Magic Poster Plus satin instant-dry photorealistic paper, Magic POSPRO+ECO anti-curl blockout film, and Magic Protect Textured Laminate, as well as its Hewlett-Packard latex compatible media. Additionally, InteliCoat features its Magic Brand ink, formulated to deliver the highest performance and superior image quality.
INX Digital, booth 2346, debuts a new UV-curable ink as its latest addition to the Triangle brand for the alternative market. Designed for use with Océ Arizona and Fujifilm Acuity printers, this product is color and chemically compatible with OEM inks, as well as forward and backward compatible. Fast curing with superior adhesion, it’s also compatible with multiple rigid and flexible substrates and supported by INX Digital’s warranties.
KAPCO Graphic Products, booth 3613, introduces laminates and digital media for water-based inkjet printers. The newest additions to the product line include 1.2 mil PSA Cast Laminates in Matte, Luster, and Gloss; 1 mil PSA PVDF Graffiti Free Laminate; Water-Based Inkjet Microporous Gloss Polypropylene with or without adhesive; and 140 gram High Resolution Matte Paper.
MACtac, booth 427, invites attendees to experience the latest in visual merchandising displays. In addition to IMAGin ROODLE, PERMACOLOR DecoLam, PERMACOLOR ColorGard, and MACmark 8900 Series Designer Colors for high-end applications, MACtac exhibits a new interactive technology that transforms ordinary surfaces into a dynamic digital display.
Magnum Magnetics, booth 2643, encourages attendees to create reusable, interchangeable graphics with Magnum Magnetics’ flexible, printable materials. No matter what type of printing, Magnum Magnetics has a magnetic solution. It offers all of its printable magnet products magnetized prior to printing or un-magnetized for magnetizing post-printing.
Master Magnetics, Inc., booth 203, features the industry’s widest options for flexible magnetic material. Available in up to 42-inch widths, PrintMagnetVinyl allows for high-resolution printing directly on flexible magnetic material with solvent, eco-solvent, UV, and latex ink systems. There are an endless amount of items that make printing on magnetic sheeting profitable.
MCT, booth 607, presents a dual cutting/finishing solution, the MasterCut. It handles 1.6 to five meters of digitally printed or dye-sublimated textile graphics and soft signage. Featuring surface mapping, rack and pinion drive, impressive cutting speed and accuracy with vision registration, the system includes a CO2 laser for cauterized finishing of polyester textiles eliminating the need for hemming and sewing, plus a tangential head with various tools.
MultiCam, booth 325, presents high-speed CNC digital finishing solutions. Save time cutting signs, graphics, digital prints, and packaging with MultiCam CNC digital finishing solutions. Each features MultiVision digital registration, routing, and knife cutting. The economical Graph-X-Cutter allows speeds up to 2,100 inches per minute (ipm). MultiCam’s wide format sheet-fed or conveyorized MultiCam High-Speed Digital Express, the fastest CNC production machine, delivers speeds up to 7,000 ipm.
Mutoh America, Inc., booth 3413, exhibits the new ValueJet 1638 – 64" eco-solvent printer that utilizes staggered dual printheads, allowing for print speeds over 1,000 square feet per hour, using Mutoh’s Intelligent Interweave print technique and the ValueJet Status Monitor application for remote printer monitoring.
Novus Imaging, booth 1001, demonstrates the Synergia H/UV. This patent-pending 3.2 meter, combination flatbed and roll-to-roll printer is the ultimate in flexibility. It boasts speeds of up to 2,000 square feet per hour of high quality, sellable output. This full grayscale device uses less ink than competitive systems and prints exceptional photo-realistic quality.
Oracal, booth 1301, highlights Oracal Series 975 Premium Textured Cast Film and ORAJET Series 3751RA Wrapping Cast Film with RapidAir Technology handling the compound curves of Panther Racing’s race car. Also on display, the leader in paint alternative film, Oracal Series 970RA Wrapping Cast Film with Rapid Air Technology that now offers 96 vibrant gloss and matte colors.
Palram Americas, booth 829, adds a polycarbonate production line and PALSUN is now available in sheets or coils up to 104 inches wide untrimmed. Other products include PALIGHT Premium, a bright white PVC substrate; PALIGHT EPS, an economical foamed PVC print substrate; PALIGHT Outdoor, foamed PVC for outdoor signage; PALCLEAR, a clear PVC monolithic sheet; and SUNLITE, a polycarbonate multi-wall sheet.
Prism Inks, booth 136, is dedicated to bringing value to its customers. Its value proposition is high-quality inks at affordable pricing. It specializes in developing and manufacturing aqueous, solvent, eco-solvent, and UV-curable inkjet inks. The technical team develops inks for several inkjet printer and printhead manufacturers.
SA International (SAi), booth 3053, is recognized as a global leader in providing professional software solutions spanning design to production for the sign making, digital printing, screenprinting, and CNC machining industries. SAi features the latest offerings from its growing line of comprehensive, professional software solutions—PixelBlaster, as well as Flexi sign making software and EnRoute three-dimensional routing software.
Sawgrass Technologies, booth 2813, showcases its latest innovation in digital ink solutions—M-XTR—the premier pigment ink set for extreme digital textile print production. Capable of running at speeds of 2,000 square feet per hour, M-XTR takes digital production to a new level. M-XTR provides excellent color, three year outdoor durability, and passes AATCC crock and wash tests.
Top Value Fabrics, booth 2533, is a supplier of printable substrates. It offers a complete line of digital, screen, and dye-sublimation (dye-sub) print media. The company supplies laminated or coated frontlit, blockout, mesh, textile, and dye-sub fabrics. Materials are compatible with printers using UV, solvent, screen, and latex ink, and manufactured in standard and custom widths from 38 to 197 inches in white and colors.
Ultraflex Systems, Inc., booth 2735, displays multiple media. MultiTex C220 is a 6.5 oz multi-purpose canvas in widths ranging from 39 to 122 inches. IllumiSol BL PET film is coated on one side for eco-solvent, solvent, and UV printing in widths up to 86 inches. FabriTac is a removable adhesive fabric that can be mounted and repositioned while retaining its adhesion without leaving residue.
Value Vinyls, booth 421, introduces Rio PET 16 oz Opaque Ultra Smooth Sign Media, a latex ink compatible PET material that is high heat tolerant. With a smooth matte finish compatible with screen and digital printing and pressure-sensitive lettering, this material is engineered to provide low-curl vibrant prints when producing hem-less signs. Rio PET is best used for applications such as indoor and outdoor banners.
Visual Magnetics, booth 2869, exhibits its large-scale graphics system that matches magnetic-receptive technology with the highest quality print media. The Visual Magnetics Graphic System features Micro-Iron MagnaMedia printable substrates to produce photo-quality graphics that allow for multi-layering of graphics. MagnaMedia works on all printing platforms and is easy to install.
