Following up on the preview found in our February issue, this month we feature more companies exhibiting at the International Sign Association’s (ISA’s) expo in Orlando, FL from March 21 to 24, 2012. Many vendors plan on introducing new products at the show, read on to find out who and where you can find them. Looking for Digital Output at ISA? Stop by booth 1314 to say hello!


3A Composites USA, booth 1714, showcases Gatorfoam Exterior. It is a tough new Gator board designed to stand up to the elements in exterior graphic displays and signage. Available in Bright White in 48x96-inch sheets in one-, 1.5-, and two-inch thicknesses, Gatorfoam Exterior offers all of the features of Gatorfoam.  Gatorfoam consists of polystyrene foam bonded between two layers of wood-fiber veneer laminate.


3M Commercial Graphics, booth 1992, sponsors the ISA Basketball & Social Media Lounge, where attendees can check out the latest scores and log in at the cyber café. A 3M representative is available in the lounge to answer specific questions about 3M products. Additionally, 3M’s strategic authorized distributors showcase new 3M products at their respective ISA booths.


Agfa Graphics, booth 1036, highlights its Application Zone. Featuring Agfa’s know how, attendees learn how to create a variety of products for indoor and outdoor signage, home décor, and retail settings including floor murals, tabletops, curtain panels, retail point of purchase, backlit, window graphics, and vehicle wraps. For that problem job, attendees can ask Agfa experts how to best meet a unique need. With a broad portfolio, Agfa shows how it can all be done easily and profitably. 


AGL, Inc., booth 710, displays Cover-Rite Over Laminates, Mount-Smart Mounting Adhesives, Shadow-Block Backing Films, and Print-Smart Vinyl Print Media. Arlon Graphics, booth 2036, features digital removable and wall wraps films for interior and exterior use. The removable products include DPF 4300, DPF 206, and DPF 50WD Clear and White. In addition to these new products, daily vehicle wrap and wall wrap demonstrations occur throughout the show. All is displayed in Arlon’s new booth in addition to eight concrete columns wrapped throughout the show floor with DPF 8000 and DPF 6700 used for exterior surfaces such as brick, stucco, and concrete.


Avery Dennison, booth 2680, exhibits applications with Avery Supreme Wrapping Film, a new opaque-film product line available in 33 colors that provides a finish similar to paint for vehicles and trucks. This dual layer film combines both color and clear protective layers providing a paint-like finish that is both durable and dazzling. INFO# 220

Bordeaux Digital Inc., booth 327, demonstrates its line of eco-solvent, mild solvent, true solvent, UV, and UV LED ink in cartridges, bags, and bulk for Roland, Mimaki, Mutoh, Seiko, HP, Agfa, and other printer models. The company also introduces its new products, aquas and UV coatings.


Caldera, booth 1862, brings to market a new edition of its pioneering RIP software, Caldera V9, which harnesses the latest version of the Adobe print engine, APPE 2.5, to deliver productivity features and refinements. Enhanced color options, improved transparency handling, and faster previewing join with practical additions to provide Caldera’s worldwide user base with the broadest functionality available in the market.


Colorwen International Corp., booth 2427, is one of the leading suppliers in using organic pigments to manufacture Chromoink eco-solvent, water-based dye/pigment, UV-curable, and textile inks. All are environmentally friendly and colors are chemically compatible to OEM inks. It also carries a full line of media, printer parts, banner stands, and other printing accessories to fulfill large format digital printing needs.


Cooley Commercial Graphics, booth 1844, provides a variety of products, including its unique Weathertyte textured, waterproof, printable awning fabrics. Also introduced is EnviroFlex PE, one of the most innovative, sustainable, and lightest billboard fabrics offered today. Available in 2.8 to 6 ounces and up to five meters in width, EnviroFlex PE is 100 percent recyclable.


DigiFab Systems, booth 1358, demonstrates its new StampaJet IN64 fabric printers and DigiHeat rotary heat presses. Additional product lines currently include pre-treated fabrics, inkjet inks, inkjet printers, RIP software for textile and graphics applications, heat presses, and steamers.


Durst Image Technology US LLC, booth 2144, is a world class manufacturer of professional wide and grand format digital UV inkjet printers. Durst products are designed for performance, reliability, and longevity to offer the highest print quality, productivity, and efficiency. The Rho 500R five-meter roll printer provides 600 dpi six-color print quality with an exceptionally high output of up to 3,760 square feet per hour (sf/h). The Rho 900 is a high-speed printing system that features automated media handling to maximize output, providing printing up to 2,399 sf/h. 


EFI, booth 2302, introduces the new EFI R3225. The R3225 is a 3.2-meter roll-to-roll, UV inkjet printer that offers superior image quality, low total cost of ownership, and access to the widest range of flexible substrates at production speed. This affordably priced printer is ideal for premium soft signage applications. Using true eight-level variable drop grayscale technology, the R3225 delivers stunning images, durable prints, and optimized ink usage.


EnCore Products, booth 2064, manufactures foam board products used for digital printing, screenprinting, point of purchase displays, exhibits, cut graphics, and dry mounting. The EnCore Foam Board line includes White, Colors, Black-on-Black, Natural Kraft, Premium Tac Repositionable Pressure Sensitive, SingleStep Heat-Activated, PilloCore, MightyCore Rigid, and MightyPrint Expressions. All products are made in the U.S. and available in a variety of size and thickness combinations.


Epson, booth 1547, debuts the Epson SureColor S30670, designed to deliver an unparalleled combination of value, quality, and performance. The new printer introduces Epson UltraChrome GS2 solvent-based ink technologies. The model is the first-ever solvent-based printer to use the Epson MicroPiezo TFP printhead, delivering droplet sizes as small as 3.5 picoliters and featuring double the nozzle density of previous solvent printers.


ErgoSoft, booth 1640, highlights PosterPrint V140 RIP. Designed and developed with Swiss precision, PosterPrint V14 produces unsurpassed output fidelity, includes finite color management controls, and enables efficient automated production. The powerful combination of JobComposer working in concert with the JobCenter, and RipServer, form a streamlined process making configuration, job setup, and output more efficient than ever.


EskoArtwork, booth 1026, shows its design to print to cut workflows, demonstrating a comprehensive portfolio of end-to-end workflow and digital finishing solutions, featuring the Kongsberg i-XP 24, i-XL 24, and i-XE 10 auto finishing systems. Workstations offer demonstrations of i-cut Suite, a collection of pre-production tools that streamlines the workflow for narrow format and large format printers alike, from prepress to finished product—highlighting new automated capabilities offered by i-cut Automate.


Hewlett-Packard (HP), booth 420, exhibits its wide format graphics printing solutions, demonstrating the 61-inch HP Designjet L26500 and 104-inch HP Designjet L28500 printers, HP’s newest latex ink solutions, for the first time in the U.S. Capable of handling a broader range of indoor and outdoor signage applications with better durability than eco-solvent inks, both systems feature new HP 792 Latex Designjet Inks, providing a consistent performance across a variety of substrates. Also on display, the newly introduced HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press, with new HP FB225 Scitex Inks.


KAPCO Graphic Products, booth 2451, is a manufacturer, custom coater, and converter of most pressure-sensitive products made in the U.S. New Indoor/Outdoor Floor Laminate, compatible with new Sidewalk Gloss White Vinyl for slightly textured exterior applications is available. Gloss/Matte White Vinyl with Air Release Liner and Gray Removable Adhesive is ideal for medium-term side panel vehicle graphics and smooth surface indoor floor graphics. Wall Graphics Gloss White Film with Ultra Removable Adhesive allows removability.


Lintec of America, booth 2508, showcases WINCOS UV, WINCOS SSJ, and Mistlass textured window films. Lintec manufactures printable scratch-resistant polyester with optically clear adhesives in a clean room environment. Give windows that painted on appearance using PVC-free WINCOS optically clear films. Lintec also demonstrates its new line of UV printable PVC free PRINTERIOR Wallcovering products.


Marabu North America, booth 2764, demonstrates the StarLam 1600R Liquid Laminator and MaraJet replacement ink. The StarLam 1600R is a roll-to-roll liquid laminator designed to apply a smooth consistent coating of water-based ClearShield liquid laminate. Handling a variety of substrates up to 64 inches wide, the StarLam makes liquid lamination quick and easy. MaraJet cartridges are plug-and-play compatible with Roland and Mimaki printers.


Master Magnetics, Inc., booth 936, features the industry’s widest options for wide format printing directly on to flexible magnetic material. Available in 24- and 42-inch widths, PrintMagnetVinyl allows for high-resolution printing directly onto flexible magnetic material from solvent, eco-solvent, UV, and latex ink systems. Testing for compatibility and quality was completed with many international printer manufacturers including Canon, EFI, Gerber Scientific Products HP, Integra/Grapo, Mimaki, Mutoh, Screen, and SII – Seiko Instruments USA.


Mimaki, booth 1944, displays its popular line of solvent, UV, and dye-sublimation wide format and flatbed printers. The CJV30 series, a favorite for its integrated print and contour cut functions along with the JV33 series highlight eco-friendly ES3 inks including silver for eye-catching metallic effects. Also showcased is the super format JV34-260 for under $60,000. A collection of UV flatbeds, the UJF-3042FX featuring expanded media versatility, the UJF-706, and the JFX-1631plus are on display. Anticipate the centerpiece of Mimaki’s booth to be the unveiling of an evolutionary new printer. 


MultiCam, booth 2222, offers the versatile MultiCam High-Speed Digital Express, the fastest CNC production machine on the market. It’s an affordable, configurable system for high-speed digital finishing at speeds up to 7,000 inches per minute. A wide format, sheet fed, or conveyorized cutting platform, Digital Express combines high-speed MultiVision digital registration with powerful routing and multiple knife-cutting capabilities. Other features include EZ Control motion-control system, all-steel and precision-machined base frame, plus a high-flow vacuum table.


Océ, booth 824, debuts the Arizona 318 GL UV flatbed printer that delivers the highest quality printing and predictable productivity without compromise. Based upon the Océ Arizona 360 series platform, it offers both high image quality and application versatility in a single system. It is configured and price positioned for low-volume production environments, making it accessible to smaller print providers—while still delivering all the quality and versatility built into every Océ Arizona series printer. ONYX Graphics, Inc., booth 2262, highlights the new ONYX Thrive production software, a true end-to-end PDF workflow product for large format digital printers based on Adobe PDF Print Engine technologies. The SmartApps family of Adobe plug-ins include products that help companies work smarter by giving them the job preparation tools they need. The new SmartApps VehicleWraps plug-in for Adobe Illustrator software is for designing print-ready vehicle wraps. The SmartApps PitStop Pro plug-in easily preflights PDF files and delivers print-ready digital master PDFs to workflow from within Adobe Acrobat software. 


Oracal USA, booth 1672, shows the ORAGUARD Series 270 and 280 paint protection films and ORAJET Series 3751RA wrapping cast, which handle the sleek contours of a Mercedes Benz. Check out the leader in paint alternative film, ORACAL Series 970RA, and its expanded color selection of 37 new matte colors.


Photo Tex Group, booth 1151, manufactures Photo Tex, a polyester patent material that you peel and stick. Print high-quality signs, banners, posters, murals, and cut outs using any inkjet, DI, or lithographic press. Photo Tex provides many ways to accommodate small or large orders and can be placed indoors or outdoors. It does not rip, shrink, or curl in any weather. 


Polytype, swissQprint’s NA distributor, booth 2554, demonstrates the Impala. swissQprint continues to improve its flatbed printers adding extended gamut inks, orange, green, and violet to standard inks, varnish, and primer. The Impala’s nine ink channels can be configured to provide a completive edge over competition offering only CMYK and white ink. Print speeds up to 1,441 square feet per hour on a 98.4x59-inch vacuum bed with pin registration providing multiple up, double sided, and oversized board printing.


R Tape Corp., an IGI Company, booth 2522, provides application tapes and premasks and is a key producer of extruded specialty films. Markets served include sign, screenprint, digital printing, textile, and craft and hobby. Graphic arts products include ApliTape and Conform series application tapes and screenprinting premasks; flex and flock heat transfer films;  DigiMask Clear print protection masking for digital prints; ProGrade paint mask;  Eclypse overlaminating films; Claritex printable polycarbonate films; EZ Erase dry erase vinyl; ChalkTalk chalkboard film; and VinylEFX embossed metalized vinyl films. 


Roland DGA Corp., booth 2072, showcases the compact and affordable VersaStudio BN-20 desktop metallic printer/cutter, perfect for apparel heat transfers, signage, point of purchase, and comps. Stop by to see the entire VersaUV LED printer line, including hybrid, flatbed, and roll-to-roll models. With VersaUV, shops explore new applications, from wide format signs and packaging prototypes to specialty graphics, interior décor, custom awards, personalization, and promotional items. Roland also demonstrates VersaCAMM VS metallic printer/cutters, VersaArt printers, GX cutters, EGX engravers, and the MPX-90 impact printer.


Royal Sovereign, booth 2681, introduces the third generation of the 55-inch cold series of wide format laminators. The RSC-1401CW (Cold) and RSC-1401HW (Heat Assist) laminate pressure-sensitive films up to 55 inches with mounting capability of up to one inch and speeds up to 16.4 feet per minute. The laminators feature digital controls for speed combined with silicone rubber rollers to help deliver a perfect finish every time. Film supply shafts are equipped with auto-grip hubs allowing quick and easy replacement of lamination roll film. These models also include as standard, motorized rear-wind attachment for easy roll-to-roll lamination.


Tex Visions, booth 2954, introduces the Bowflag Street Banner. Stainless steel bands secure the Bowflag Street Banner to virtually any pole. It’s easy to set up and take down, leaving behind no damage to the pole. Adjust the angle from the pole by sliding the steel bands up or down. Changing banners is a breeze because all five flag shapes fit on the same hardware. The Bowflag Street Banner captures attention where it’s needed most.


Top Value Fabrics, booth 1263, is a leading supplier of printable flexible banner solutions offering a complete line of print media for indoor and outdoor use in widths to 197 inches. It offers banner media and specialty textiles for solvent, eco-solvent, UV, latex, dye-sublimation, and screenprinting. Banner media products include frontlit, blockout, PET, mesh, and PP fabrics in multiple deniers and choice of finishes. Value Vinyls, booth 236, is a premier supplier of digital and screenprinting media, as well as industrial PVC. It produces laminated, coated, and mesh substrates for UV, solvent, and latex ink printers ranging from 26 to 196 inches wide. At the show, products include frontlit, backlit, blockout, and mesh materials. In addition, four new PET products designed to create eye catching graphics are on the show floor.


Zünd America, Inc., booth 2358, presents the new S3 cutter, a super-fast, low-cost version of Zünd’s G3 line of multifunctional flatbed cutting systems.
