Not many NASCAR fans get to spend time behind the scenes at a major racing group campus, rub elbows with star drivers like Kevin Harvick and Jeff
Burton, and watch Sprint Cup Series action from the best seats in the house at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This, however, is exactly what Mark Caron
and his wife Tera experienced after winning the Roland Race Experience Challenge, a contest held recently by digital printing leader Roland DGA.
Caron, owner of Payson, Utah-based MHC Sign and Design, won the Roland Race Experience Challenge back in August for his testimonial judged
“most compelling” of all contest entries submitted at Roland’s Restyling “Born to Wrap” Facebook page. The Grand Prize included an all-expense paid
trip to North Carolina, tickets to two Sprint Cup events, a VIP tour of the Richard Childress Racing (RCR) team graphics facility, and the opportunity to
meet some of the legends of the sport. The racing fan’s dream trip became reality for the couple in mid-October, when they boarded a jet bound for
Charlotte.
“We have always been huge NASCAR fans, but we never thought we’d have a chance to actually attend the races in Charlotte, let alone meet some of
the world’s top pros,” said Caron. “We also had the privilege of touring the Richard Childress Graphics Center and seeing how the RCR team works
their vehicle wrap magic. It was all simply incredible.”
Richard Childress Racing, one of the industry’s largest and busiest wrap design and installation facilities, relies on several Roland eco-solvent
large-format printers – including a 64-inch VersaCAMM VS-640 metallic inkjet printer/cutter and three SOLJET models – to meet the graphics needs
of nine teams, 10 professional drivers, including Harvick and Burton, and nearly one hundred sponsors.
“Being so close to all the action and meeting Kevin Harvick and other NASCAR stars was an experience we’ll never forget,” said Caron. We want to
thank Roland for making it all happen.”
