Quark Launches QuarkCopyDesk 7 for Text and Picture Editing

Denver, CO - December 4, 2007 - Quark Inc. today announced the launch of QuarkCopyDesk® 7, Quark's text
and picture editing software designed for writers, editors and others who contribute to publishing workflows.
QuarkCopyDesk 7 improves communication throughout the editorial workflow by providing a simple and intuitive
work environment and seamless interaction with QuarkXPress® 7.

Built completely on the award-winning QuarkXPress 7 code base, QuarkCopyDesk 7 enables writers and
editors to see the same graphic-rich pages that designers see. All attributes, such as colors, article geometry,
style sheets, and hyphenation and justification rules, are maintained so that formatted files move easily and
accurately between the two applications. QuarkCopyDesk 7 can also exchange text with Microsoft® Word,
WordPerfect®, XPress Tags, HTML and other word processing formats.

Among the new features incorporated in QuarkCopyDesk 7 are:

-- Professional Image Manipulation and Picture Effects: Any image format supported by QuarkXPress, including
native Photoshop® files, can be imported to QuarkCopyDesk 7. Pictures can be scaled, cropped, rotated, and
flipped. Adjustments to brightness and contrast, as well as blur, mask, and despeckle filters can also be applied -
all through easy-to-understand controls in the context-sensitive Measurements.

-- Split Views: Allows users to split article views horizontally and vertically to display the content in Galley, Full-
screen and WYSIWYG views simultaneously. Content edited in one view updates the other views automatically.

-- Streamlined Output Process: Output Profiles and Output Profile Groups allow users to incorporate metadata
into the output data stream using an internal placeholder framework. Output profiles for Print, PDF, and Article
XML can be combined into output profile groups - allowing output to
different mediums with one mouse click.

In addition to new functionality, QuarkCopyDesk 7 features XTensions® for Notes, which enables users to
place comments directly in the text that will travel with the article, and Redlining, which lets multiple users review
an article while tracking and highlighting editorial changes. With its proven and easy-to-use authoring environment,
writers, editors, and reviewers using QuarkCopyDesk 7 know the precise article geometry, so their revised copy
always fits perfectly.

"QuarkCopyDesk 7 enables a more communicative and streamlined editorial workflow with features that allow
those involved in the process to work simultaneously, track edits and collaborate with QuarkXPress 7," said
Rainer Heckmann, director of product marketing for Quark. "We have designed it to be the tool of choice for
all editors and writers who manage both text and picture content in their articles."

In addition, QuarkCopyDesk 7 works in conjunction with Quark Publishing System® 7 (QPS® 7), Quark's
workflow management system launched in October 2007. Designed with a new open, standards-based
architecture, QPS 7 integrates seamlessly with existing business systems and complimentary publishing solutions
to simplify the editorial, creative and production processes for publishers and corporations with demanding
workflows.

Markzware Incorporates The Benefits of QuarkXPress Server 7, To Offer a Powerful Online Preflighting Solution

Santa Ana, California - December 6, 2006 - Markzware, the leading developer of preflighting, data extraction
and conversion software is pleased to announce their partnership to create on-demand creative solutions based
on QuarkXPress Server 7. FlightCheck Online is a cost-effective, Web-based, quality-control, and file-delivery
solution that enables quick communication among senders and receivers of digital files to ensure they conform
to print-ready specifications.

"We are excited to incorporate the benefits of QuarkXPress Server 7 into our technology to deliver superior
quality-assurance, data-conversion, and workflow solutions to our customers," said David Dilling, Markzware.
"We are looking forward to developing fresh, new technologies with Quark well into the future."

QuarkXPress Server 7 combines the design, power and collaboration functionality of QuarkXPress with proven
server-based performance to help software developers and system integrators meet needs in specific vertical
markets. FlightCheck Online and QuarkXPress Server 7 combine to create a powerful online preflighting solution
that allows customers to opre-qualify QuarkXPress files before delivering them for printing. FlightCheck Online
checks the files against customised preflight rule sets defined by the output provider.

"Quark is thrilled to see our partners leveraging the creative power of QuarkXPress Server to develop both
Web-based and data-driven applications, delivering a custom, dynamic publishing solution to their customers,"
said Nick Howard, Quark director of enterprise products. Markzware has demonstrated that they are leaders in
the dynamic publishing industry, and we are proud to support them to deliver on-demand creative communications.

FlightCheck Online is designed to deliver a complete QuarkXPress project with all the correct fonts and images
in place; if an error does occur in the file during preflight, the application immediately alerts the sender using the
sender's Web browser. When the file is ready for further processing, FlightCheck Online uploads the file to the
server, decompresses it, automatically loads the specific required fonts, and outputs the job through QuarkXPress
Server.

Dilling said, "Users are able to publish their documents in an error free, print ready PDF format because the
QuarkXPress project has been fully preflighted and all elements needed for successful output have been
incorporated into the job. Users can create PDFs in low- or high-resolution versions for proofing and production."

Quark Introduces Platform-Independent Licensing

Denver, CO - November 20, 2006 - Quark makes using QuarkXPress easier: A single license, one product, any
platform. Quark Inc. announced today the introduction of platform-independent licenses and packaging for
QuarkXPress 7. This change is a result of the company’s on-going commitment to improve licensing policies
and procedures for customers and channel partners.

"In an effort to provide our customers with the most efficient and effective way to use QuarkXPress at home
and at work, we are providing platform-independent licensing," said Jürgen Kurz, Quark senior vice president
of desktop products. "Creative minds should be free to design and innovate on any platform, and Quark is
continuing to provide that freedom with our creative tools."

Quark has listened to customer needs by introducing the platform-independent licensing. Now, individual
QuarkXPress users can double-activate one license on different platforms at no additional cost; customers can
use the same QuarkXPress 7 license on Windows or Mac OS or both. In addition, because of another recent
change regarding Quark licenses, previous versions of QuarkXPress can run under the same license when
users are upgrading to QuarkXPress 7.

In connection with the change, separate part numbers for the Mac OS and Windows versions of QuarkXPress
7 and the part codes for platform cross-grades changing from one platform to another are no longer required
and will be phased out. All orders will be fulfilled using a platform-independent validation code.

Quark announces limited time promotional pricing for QuarkXPress

DENVER April 4, 2005 In its efforts to reward customers for choosing the most successful design software in
its class, Quark today announced the immediate availability of promotional pricing for QuarkXPress 6.5 full
products and upgrades. The promotional

pricing includes one low upgrade price from any previous version of QuarkXPress. The suggested retail prices
for the promotional period are $199 for upgrades and $699 for full product. The promotional pricing is available
now until June 30, 2005.

Award-winning functionality

Released in November 2004 and available as a free upgrade to users of QuarkXPress 6, QuarkXPress 6.5
offers new features and increased product stability and reliability. Added functionality eases image manipulation,
enhances variable data printing with QuarkXClusive,

and provides support for importing native Photoshop files. Much more than an upgrade, QuarkXPress 6.5 has
been an instant hit with users and the media alike, already winning a number of awards, including a coveted
Macworld Eddy for most improved page layout software, a Macworld UK 4-star rating, and a PC Magazine
Germany Top-Produkt award.

Reviewers at MacUser magazine lauded the improvements: "The quality of the edited images created by
QuarkVista [in QuarkXPress 6.5] is impeccable. Taken together with the new features introduced with
QuarkXPress 6 layers, multiple undo, synchronized text, and so on it’s an utterly compelling upgrade."

And reviewers from Computer Arts Magazine wrote: "[QuarkXClusive] leaves the low-end imposer supplied
with Adobe InDesign CS PageMaker Edition looking pitiful by comparison. Users still stuck with QuarkXPress
4.x and 5.x will be green with envy."

Helping customers make the switch to QuarkXPress 6.5

Instead of having different upgrade pricing that is based on the software version a customer is upgrading,
Quark is offering upgrades to QuarkXPress 6.5 for the same low upgrade price of $199 - regardless of whether
a customer is upgrading from QuarkXPress 3, 4,or 5. This promotional pricing plan could save some
organizations more than $300 for every upgraded license.

For those businesses that are looking to make the switch to QuarkXPress 6.5 or add new licenses, the new
promotional full product pricing means purchasing licenses of QuarkXPress has never been more cost
effective. The suggested retail price for the full product version of QuarkXPress 6.5 during the promotion is
just $699, a savings of more than $346 on the list price of QuarkXPress.
