Instant-Dry Photo Papers for Solvent, Low-Solvent, Latex and
Three new instant-dry photo papers for solvent, low-solvent, UV-curable and latex printers that address both high-end and production-oriented
photo reproduction and graphics production have been introduced by LexJet.
The new photo papers were developed to open up new markets and profitable applications for print shops, sign companies, point-of-purchase and
exhibit producers, and fine-art reproduction companies.
The new LexJet photo papers include:
LexJet Sunset Photo Satin SUV 275g: Highly scratch-resistant, this 11-mil satin-finish photo paper is perfect for posters, fine photos, corporate and hotel
lobby displays, retail displays, décor, and other applications where image quality and performance are essential.
LexJet Sunset Photo Gloss SUV 275g: Provides the same benefits as the new satin photo paper but in a gloss finish. Both papers are specially
formulated to dry instantly with low-solvent, solvent, latex and UV-curable inks so that users can put their take-up reel to work for longer production runs.
They're also the thickest, most durable photo papers on the market in their class. The new Sunset SUV photo papers are based on LexJet's award-
winning Sunset line of fine art papers, photo papers and canvases preferred by professional photographers and fine art reproduction companies for
their extremely wide color gamut and high Dmax, as well as their ability to hold fine detail.
LexJet 8 Mil Production Satin SUV 180g: Geared toward high-volume production work that requires a balance of quality and economy,
this satin-finish production paper features a high-performance, instant-dry, scratch-resistant base for posters, photo reproductions, point-of-
purchase displays, and other commercial applications.
"The Sunset Photo Satin and Gloss SUV media print great on our Epson GS6000 low-solvent printer, and the drying time is very good with both,"
says Trevor Odell of Colormax Digital, Evansville, Ind. "I've been searching for a heavyweight, durable paper for solvent that's just as good as photo
papers for aqueous printers, but at a lower cost, and this is it."
Regarding LexJet 8 Mil Production Satin SUV 180g, Kent Foster, Fostergraphs Inc., Decorah, Iowa, comments: "I tested other solvent photo
papers previously and it was always a challenge to get it to dry on our Epson GS6000. This is better now, and the color and saturation is great."
All three of the new LexJet SUV photo papers allow those who have transitioned to solvent, latex and UV-curable printing from aqueous-based printing
to win back customer and market share for higher-end production graphics and photographic reproduction. For long-time users of solvent and
UV-curable technologies, the true photo-quality papers open up a range of profitable applications in both emerging and existing markets.
"LexJet's new suite of photo papers were designed to maximize the production quality of low-solvent, solvent, latex and UV-curable printers,
and make production easier," says Jaimie Mask, LexJet's product manager. "Our customers are looking for ways to differentiate their output, and that
was the driving force behind the development of these new photo papers."
The new LexJet SUV photo papers are available for next-day delivery in most of the Continental U.S. from one of LexJet's nationwide distribution
centers, and come in 36-in., 54-in., and 61-in. widths. As with all LexJet products they come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Based on the Hot One Award-winning Sunset Velvet Rag 315g, LexJet introduces Sunset Bright Velvet Rag 315g. Like the original neutral-white Sunset
Velvet Rag, this latest version also features a 100% cotton rag base with a velvet (etching-like) surface but on a bright-white base.
"Sunset Bright Velvet Rag paper lives up to the Sunset reputation. It is brighter and has more punch than the competition. LexJet continues to set the
standard in paper," says award-winning photographer and teacher Jeff Gulle, Clarksville, Ga.
Ideal for fine art and photographic reproduction, photo restorations, and museum-quality limited edition prints, the new paper is designed to maximize the
latest aqueous ink and printer technology from Canon, Epson and HP.
Sunset Bright Velvet Rag 315g produces the same rich black levels and saturated color as Sunset Velvet Rag, while offering a wider color gamut with
an increased dynamic range on the new bright-white cotton base.

LexJet Introduces New Repositionable and Removable Adhesive-
LexJet's new Print-N-Stick Fabric™ brings true photographic-quality printing to an inkjet fabric material that's also backed with a repositionable and
The new product is a combination of LexJet's popular Water-Resistant Satin Cloth and a proprietary adhesive system that allows users to easily apply,
reposition, remove and re-use graphics on virtually any flat surface without leaving any residue behind.
"Printing has been a cinch. I fed it right into the printer and didn't have to make any changes to the suction to feed it in," say Jack Ansley, owner of
John H. Ansley Studio, Devon, Pa. "It has a very nice white surface, which produced rich blacks and great image quality for a project I recently printed
applied to a concrete wall. I was amazed at how easy it is to apply and reposition without any bubbling."
The water-resistant fabric is also easy to finish; it won't rip, wrinkle or stretch during production or installation and can be cut into any shape without
fraying or tearing. Compatible with aqueous and latex inks, LexJet Print-N-Stick Fabric has a 110° white point and allows higher ink saturation for
deeper, sharper colors than most inkjet fabrics.
LexJet Print-N-Stick Fabric is ideal for wall murals and cut-out wall graphics, point-of-purchase displays, decals, window graphics, signs and more. It is
currently available and shipping from LexJet's Nationwide Distribution Network in 24", 36", 42" and 60" wide x 100' roll lengths (LexJet also offers a
24" x 20' test roll).

LexJet Now Offers High-Speed, Economical Canvas Stretching Machine
LexJet was recently tapped as the exclusive North American distributor of two economical, production-oriented canvas stretcher machines from Meath,
Ireland-based GAPP Engineering: the Canvas Stretch Master and Studio Canvas Master.
The Studio Canvas Master, which retails at less than $3,000, can wrap up to 35 canvas prints per hour while the Canvas Stretch Master, which retails
below $11,000, can wrap up to 60 canvas prints per hour. Both are pneumatically operated and available in two models: one that can stretch canvas
prints up to 48" x 48" and one that can stretch canvas prints up to 60" x 60".
"Print shops, photographers and fine art reproduction companies now have a true turnkey canvas printing partner with LexJet. The canvas stretching
machines are the perfect complement to our line of canvas products, which includes Fredrix Print Canvas, LexJet Sunset Canvas, Sunset Coatings,
Sunset Stretcher Bars and the latest printer technology from Canon, Epson and HP," says Alex Ried, LexJet product manager.
The Canvas Stretch Master is easy to install, simple to operate and takes up relatively little shop space since it sets up against the wall like a vertical
panel saw. Virtually maintenance-free, the Canvas Stretch Master requires only a 120 psi air compressor to run it.
"We just started doing canvas wraps on the Canvas Stretch Master. It's simple to use, doesn't have a lot of moving parts, is solidly built and does the
job well," says Adam Rutkowski, operations manager for Linemark, Upper Marlboro, Md. "The machine will be a big help to us as we grow our market
for canvas wraps."
The Studio Canvas Master can be either bench- or wall-mounted, depending on space needs, and is ideal for imaging professionals who don't require a
high-production machine but are looking for an easier and more consistent method for finishing canvas.
Both machines feature guides that ensure even stapling, control points for flexible and consistent tensioning, and adjustments that allow for the
stretching of other materials, like fabric. Constructed of steel and high-quality parts both machines are built to provide stability and durability for consistent
and uninterrupted production.
The Canvas Stretch Master and Studio Canvas Master are available for demonstration at LexJet's Sarasota headquarters and are expected to begin
shipping in June. For more information and to schedule a demonstration, contact a LexJet customer specialist at 800-453-9538.
Double-Sided Adhesive for Smooth, Bubble-Free Window Graphics
Now available from LexJet's Nationwide Delivery Network is a 1-mil clear polyester film for double-sided window graphics with adhesive on both sides
and an air flow release liner that makes window graphics applications quick, easy and bubble-free.
LexJet FaceMount-X Removable Adhesive has a permanent solvent acrylic adhesive on one side to apply to the face of the printed image and a
removable solvent acrylic adhesive with the air flow release liner for application onto the inside of the window.
"This was a new challenge for us, to come up with a way to apply graphics to the inside of the glass so there was an image viewable from both
sides of the window. I called several places looking for a solution, and LexJet came up with a solution that worked," says Ed Zamora of ValPrint
Trade Show Exhibits & Graphics, Fresno, Calif.
Once the promotion or campaign is over, the graphic is easily removed with no residue. Since it's applied on the inside of a window, the removable
adhesive is ideal for protecting graphics from picky passersby and the weather, as well as sign code enforcers who don't like graphics applied to the
outside of windows.
"LexJet FaceMount-X Removable Adhesive is a great example of custom products LexJet develops based on customer needs and feedback," says
Dione Metnick, LexJet product manager. "If you're looking for a solution to a challenge, give us a call and we'll try our best to figure it out, and perhaps
a new product that helps everyone will come out of that discussion."
LexJet Introduces New Blockout Inkjet Printable Fabric
LexJet recently added Poly Select Blockout Fabric to its line of inkjet-printable Poly Select Fabrics, which also includes Poly Select Light, Poly Select
Medium and Poly Select Heavy for aqueous inkjet printers, and Poly Select Light SUV and Poly Select Heavy SUV for use with solvent, low-solvent,
UV-curable and latex printers.
LexJet Poly Select Blockout Fabric is a 14-mil bright-white polyester fabric with a blockout layer that provides greater opacity. Compatible with
aqueous and latex inks, the fabric lays flat, minimizing edge curl and making it easy to work with in production.
"The image quality with the Poly Select Blockout Fabric is really good," says Joe Batten, owner of JojoMonster Graphics in Venice, Calif. "We
recently used it to print hanging banners at a charity event. We needed something lightweight that we could add rigidity to with pole pockets and
dowels, and we didn't want the light to show through and prevent the image from looking good on the printed side."
Compatible with the latest aqueous ink technology from Canon, Epson and HP, the water-resistant coating provides exceptional imaging quality
with a wide color gamut and higher ink saturation for rich, brilliant, eye-catching color. Poly Select Blockout Fabric is an excellent alternative to
scrim banner for durable banner applications.
"Like all of our Poly Select Fabrics, Poly Select Blockout Fabric can be used in a variety of applications, from point-of-purchase displays to event
signage and trade show graphics," says Dione Metnick, LexJet product manager. "The blockout layer ensures that the light won't shine through it
when it's backlit with bright lights, such as you're likely to find at a trade show."
Poly Select Blockout Fabric is available in 24" x 15', 24" x 60', 36" x 100', 42" x 60', 50" x 60' and 60" x 60' roll sizes with $9.99 flat-rate shipping from
LexJet's Nationwide Delivery Network. For more information, contact a LexJet customer specialist at 800-453-9538.
New Sunset Canvas from LexJet Designed for Production
Print shops and art reproduction companies looking for an economical inkjet-printable canvas alternative for longer production runs that provides
consistent quality can now add LexJet Sunset Production Matte Canvas to their arsenal.
"Of course I really like the price of this new canvas from LexJet, but it still provides good color reproduction. It has a little more tooth to show the canvas
texture for mass production projects that require that look," says Richard Herschberger, owner of Herschberger Galerie in Arthur, Ill. "I also like the fact
that I can get it in 60-foot rolls so I'm not changing it out as often; you get more bang for the buck that way."
LexJet Sunset Production Matte Canvas has been engineered for the latest aqueous printer and ink set technologies from Canon, Epson and HP. It is a
bright-white, water-resistant 100% polyester matte canvas with the look and feel of a traditional 2-over-1 weave for all types of art and décor applications.
It's designed to work flawlessly with Sunset Gloss Coating and Sunset Satin Coating, either sprayed or rolled on.
"The new canvas effectively rounds out our award-winning Sunset Canvas line because it gives companies with high-production environments the
perfect balance between price and quality in a highly repeatable, consistent large format inkjet print solution," says Alex Ried, LexJet product manager.
"That's what we were aiming for when we developed it, and our feedback so far indicates that we hit the target."
LexJet Sunset Production Matte Canvas is now available and shipping from LexJet's Nationwide Delivery Network, which provides the vast majority
of the United States with one-day ground shipping on all LexJet products. It is available in 60' roll lengths and 24", 36", 44" and 60" widths.
LexJet Introduces Versatile New Polypropylene Blockout Media
LexJet introduces two new lay-flat polypropylene inkjet printable materials that have a gray back coat for additional opacity: LexJet 11 Mil Blockout
PolyGloss and LexJet 11 Mil Blockout Water-Resistant Polypropylene.
Both can be used as a cost-effective alternative to the typical polyester inkjet materials for trade show and in-store point-of-purchase graphics, as well
as long-term indoor banners and short-term outdoor banners.
"We already offer a fantastic water-resistant polypropylene, but our customers were looking for something more opaque," says Jeff Leto, LexJet's
product manager. "The great thing about the new blockout polypropylene materials is that they're economical and you can use them for practically
any type of display graphics applications."
The water-resistant materials have a bright-white inkjet-receptive coating that yields additional color and contrast. LexJet 11 Mil Blockout PolyGloss is
compatible with aqueous inkjet printers and LexJet 11 Mil Blockout Water-Resistant Polypropylene is compatible with aqueous and latex inkjet printers.
Both blockout polypropylene materials are available in 24" x 75', 36" x 75', 42" x 75', 50" x 75' and 60" x 75' rolls. For more information and to order,
contact a LexJet customer specialist at 800-453-9538.

New LexJet Sunset Photo Paper Combines Fibre and Cotton Rag
LexJet has just introduced Sunset Fibre Rag 335g as an answer to the call from photographers and fine art reproduction companies looking for the high-
end air-dried look and feel on a 100 percent cotton rag base.
"This paper has a great Dmax, the color gamut is pretty amazing and the surface is nice and consistent," says Jon Scott, owner of JS Graphics Inc., a
fine art reproduction company based in Chicago. "It also comes in various sheet and roll sizes, which is great, because it gives us more flexibility in our
printing. I also like working with LexJet because the pricing is fair, I like the products and I can get what I need tomorrow. I love that. We can't afford to
keep everything on the shelf, so we basically order on-demand when we need it."
Sunset Fibre Rag is available in 8.5" x 11", 13" x 19" and 17" x 22" sheets and 17" x 50', 24" x 50', 36" x 50', 44" x 50' and 60" x 50' rolls. It has a subtle
gloss finish with a very subtle textured surface with no optical brighteners, though it has a very bright neutral white point.
"Like all of our Sunset fine art and fine photo inkjet papers, this latest addition was developed to maximize the latest ink and printer technology from
Canon, Epson and HP," says LexJet product manager Alex Ried. "Sunset Fibre Rag builds on the Sunset Fibre line, applying the inkjet technology
used in that line to a cotton rag base; that's the secret sauce that makes this paper an excellent addition to anyone's arsenal of inkjet printable
Sunset Fibre Rag 335g is the latest addition to the award-winning Sunset line of fine art, photo and fine photo inkjet media, which includes Hot
OneAward winners Sunset Photo Metallic Paper, Sunset Photo eSatin Paper, Sunset Select Matte Canvas, Sunset Select Gloss Canvas, Sunset
Velvet Rag, Sunset Fibre Elite and Sunset Fibre Gloss.
Sunset Fibre Rag 335g, like all LexJet and Sunset products, comes with a 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee, as well as $9.99 flat-rate shipping from
LexJet's nationwide network of distribution centers for quick, economical and hassle-free product delivery.
LexJet Launches Industry's First Fully Transportable Graphic
LexJet has introduced the industry's first fully transportable graphic, Infinium, a print medium with laminate and adhesive built into one conformable
material. LexJet Infinium – which is compatible with low-solvent, solvent, latex and UV-curable printers – can be applied to virtually any surface,
including irregular surfaces and curves, using heat, water or a primer (LexJet Infinium Bond).
"Fully transportable means that, with Infinium, you can print the same material with the same image on the same printer for use in multiple applications,"
says Jeff Leto, LexJet product manager. "This conformable material gives you the ability to take the graphic anywhere you want onto virtually any
substrate and image it."
Infinium is not a paper, it's not a film and it's not a transfer material. It's a clear material you reverse print and apply face down on the substrate with
either water, heat or a primer, depending on the application and whether it's a temporary or permanent graphic. Click here to see how it works at
LexJet's YouTube channel.
"There is a lot of potential with this product, because in the past you had to print to a substrate, laminate it and apply it, and you sometimes had to
use a number of different substrates for one project. With Infinium, it's one step, one material and one process," says David Kurniawan, owner of
Maryland Signs and Graphics in Towson, Md., who runs Infinium on his HP L25500 latex printer. "We can use it on all types of substrates and
surfaces, including rough surfaces, which helps us use fewer materials for a lot of different applications."
Manufactured with water-based chemistries, LexJet Infinium is a sustainable material that has no VOCs and is PVC-free. And, since it includes print,
adhesive and laminate qualities in one material it reduces waste and production steps. LexJet Infinium is compatible with most commonly used
post-print processes, including laser cutting, routing and thermoforming without distorting the graphic.
LexJet Infinium is available in Gloss and Matte versions in 25", 36", 42", 50" and 54" widths and 75-foot roll lengths. Like all LexJet products it
comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee and super-fast, $9.99 flat rate shipping from LexJet's nationwide network of distribution centers. For
more information, contact a LexJet customer specialist at 800-453-9538.
LexJet Offers Repositionable 60/40 Film for Window Graphics
LexJet now offers FaceMount Perforated Window Grip, a 60/40 perforated film (60 percent printable area, 40 percent open area pattern) that makes
inside window applications even easier. The film has a unique low-tack grip adhesive that's repositionable and easy to remove with little to no residue
after it's removed.
You print to the window grip adhesive, which has an ink-receptive coating, and apply the graphic to the inside of the window with the adhesive
and image facing out. The polyester liner ensures a smooth application since it helps prevent the film from tunneling and curling during installation.
"Our customers have been asking for a see-through window film that they can apply to the inside of the window. In some areas of the country restrictive
sign codes do not allow you to apply graphics to the outside of the window, plus you get extra protection when the graphic is applied inside the window,"
says Dione Metnick, LexJet product manager. "With FaceMount Perforated Window Grip installers have the additional bonus of a repositionable
adhesive that makes application a breeze."
Once the film is applied it will stick to the glass for up to a year. The 60/40 perforation pattern provides image quality and clarity when viewed from the
outside and is see-through from the inside looking out.
LexJet FaceMount Perforated Window Grip is designed only for use with low-solvent and solvent printers and is available in 54? x 82' and 27? x 12' rolls.

Print shops and other imaging professionals looking for an effective sales tool that shows, tells and sells their wide-format printing output now have
LexJet's Large Format Graphics Sales & Application Guides to help seal the deal on the spot with their customers.

UV-curable and latex printers . Both guides include about a dozen media-laminate combinations as well.
"The Sales & Application Guides serve a dual purpose. Most importantly, they allow print shop salespeople to show their customers the actual inkjet
materials and all the creative options at their disposal for any application they can imagine, including those they didn't realize were even possible,"
says Rick Nerenhausen, LexJet's director of sales. "It's also a great educational tool for everyone in the print shop, from sales and purchasing to

LexJet Introduces Versatile Fabric Line for Aqueous Inkjet Printers
Print shops looking for a versatile, economical and high-quality fabric to include in their product offering for their aqueous inkjet printers now have a
dependable choice with LexJet's new line of Poly Select fabrics.
The polyester fabrics were engineered for short-term outdoor applications like special events and longer-term indoor applications, such as banner stands,
retail point of purchase, trade shows, corporate lobbies, table drapes, flags, backdrops and more.
"We've actually gained in our marketplace because the customers like the LexJet fabric so much. A lot of customers run specials and they can take it
down, fold it up, store it and when they start that special again they can put it back up," says Todd Barlow, graphic design and special event
coordinator for RMC Distributing in Pueblo, Colo. "It's versatile, flexible, easy to work with and the colors come out brilliant. We use it just about
everywhere and for every type of promotion and special event."
The fabrics are available in three weights: Light, Medium and Heavy. LexJet Poly Select Light is 7.5 mils thick and weighs in at 155g. With its tight,
barely discernible weave it's ideal for reproducing colorful, finely detailed high-end images and designs. LexJet Poly Select Heavy is 13 mils thick and
weighs 230g. It lays flat so it's easy to work with in production and it's glare resistant to ensure consistent viewing in any lighting situation. LexJet Poly
Select Medium combines the tight weave of the lighter fabric with additional durability and thickness (12 mils).
"Canon, Epson and HP have greatly improved their aqueous inkjet technology. The ink sets in the latest generation of printers are more durable and
provide a wider color gamut, so it was important to our customers that we make the most of those improvements with a fabric line that maximizes the
latest printers' capabilities," says Dione Metnick, LexJet's product manager.

LexJet brings its 17 years of experience and innovation in developing printable media and laminates for the graphics market with the addition of
LexJet Performance Textured Polypropylene (10 Mil) to its line of Performance laminates. The new laminate is a 10-mil version of LexJet's popular
Performance Textured Polypropylene (5 Mil) and was developed for customers who require extra rigidity and the same proven performance as the
5-mil laminate for point of purchase displays and trade show graphics.
"The 5-mil version of our Performance Textured Polypropylene has been a favorite of our customers since it was introduced three years ago. They
love all the qualities of the laminate that, most importantly, translate to a dependable and economical product that brings repeat business," explains
Dione Metnick, LexJet's product manager. "At the same time, many of those customers were looking for those qualities in a thicker, more rigid laminate
to help meet their needs for other applications."
Performance Textured Polypropylene (10 Mil) is priced 35 to 40 percent lower than most comparable 10-mil textured laminates on the market and does
not contain any PVC resins or hazardous substances. Since it's PVC-free, it has better overall clarity, protects against yellowing and has a higher
dimensional stability so that it won't shrink and cause the most hateful of print shop situations… The emergency do-over. It also features the most
durable acrylic adhesive in the industry for unequaled bond strength between the laminate and the graphic.
"Our clients are very demanding and if they don't like it, our policy is to re-do it, so we want to use materials that ensure we don't have to re-do anything.
We've had great success with LexJet materials, including the Performance Textured Polypropylene, on this and similar projects," says Charles
Fleming of Southwest Museum Services in Houston, referring to the multi-media project the company designed and fabricated for the Reagan
The proprietary velvet-textured co-polymer PSA film is equivalent in price with less-expensive thermal laminates while providing greater durability,
adhesion strength and image quality. The laminate is ASTM rated for use with floor graphics as well, and is resistant to and compatible with most
solvent cleaning agents.
It is available and shipping from LexJet's nationwide network of distribution centers and comes with a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee. Available roll
sizes are: 38 in. x 20 ft., 38 in. x 75 ft., 38 in. x 150 ft., 51 in. x 75 ft., and 51 in. x 150 ft.
HP's Designjet L25500 Latex Inkjet Printer Now Available at LexJet
Hewlett-Packard has selected LexJet as an authorized reseller of the 60-inch and 42-inch wide HP Designjet L25500 latex inkjet printers. With the
addition of the L25500, LexJet expands its portfolio of inkjet printing technology, fitting perfectly into a range of LexJet printable inkjet mediaalready
developed to be compatible with latex inks, including LexJet's Simple line of vinyls for vehicle, specialty, window, floor and carpet, and other sign
and display applications.
"When we consult with customers we take a detailed look at their current business and production setup to provide them with a plan that meets
their operational, growth and profit goals," says Jeff Leto, LexJet product manager. "The HP Designjet L25500 gives our customers another option
when they're selecting a printer to help expand their business, especially those customers who provide point-of-purchase and in-store display
The HP L25500 can print on a wide range of media, papers and textiles, including media optimized for solvent and low-solvent inks. Designed for
both indoor and outdoor graphic production, HP Latex Inks are durable, odorless and emit very low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) so
that no special ventilation is required. Moreover, the inks do not require special handling, are non-flammable and non-combustible. The printer
uses internal radiant heaters and forced airflow to cure the inks, speeding up turnaround times on printed graphics.
"Overall, the machine has been fantastic for our business. We have widened our range of options just by being able to go out and source different
media we weren't able to source before," says Mark Jacques, director of print services, 11th Hour Business Centers, Orlando. "I can open up the
LexJet catalog and print just about everything in there, opening up our ability to be more creative with our print applications."
The HP L25500 utilizes six ink colors with print resolutions up to 1,200 dpi, combined with HP Double Swath technology with three pairs of HP 789
Designjet Printheads and the HP Optical Media Advance Sensor for saleable output up to 246 square feet per hour.
The printheads have a simple snap-out, snap-in design for easy replacement. A built-in automatic printhead service station and automatic nozzle testing
system, plus large 775 mil ink cartridges, eliminate the need for daily maintenance and ensure long periods of interrupted production. Used HP 789
Designjet Printheads and HP 780 Latex Ink Cartridges may be returned and recycled through HP's free and convenient Planet Partners Program.
Until recently, imaging companies that wanted to offer high-quality inkjet canvas gallery and museum wraps either had to stretch the canvas
manually, painstakingly putting the pieces together, or make a fairly substantial capital investment in automated equipment. Now they can use LexJet's
pre-made Sunset Stretcher Kits and do it economically and professionally in just minutes.
"Sunset Stretcher Kits are extremely simple to use and put together. I can now stretch an entire canvas in under ten minutes," says Chris Piccirillo,
Mind's Eye Photography, St Marys, Pa.
LexJet's Sunset Pro Stretcher Kit comes with four stretcher bars that are 1.5 in. deep and 1.25 in. wide, while the Sunset HD Pro Stretcher Kit stretcher
bars are 1.75 in. deep and 1.25 in. wide. Each kit also includes corner braces, industrial-strength corner clips and hanging wire. With two strips of
adhesive on the sides and back only a minimum amount of staples are needed to make a canvas wrap.
"Just like hand-made frames, the Sunset Stretcher Kits are heavy and substantial, giving them a classic, professional look and feel," says Alex Ried,
LexJet product manager. "The stretcher bars and the way they are milled for a vertical grain are designed specifically to prevent warping. The
bracing, the depth of the channel and the way the corner braces are driven in also ensure a solid canvas frame that will not warp or fail."
The kits are available in a variety of sizes, including custom sizes up to 90 inches in 10-inch increments. Though the kits work with any inkjet-printable
canvas, they are fine tuned for use with LexJet Sunset Canvas and Coatings. LexJet's award-winning Sunset canvas line includes the new Sunset
Reserve Matte Canvas and Sunset Reserve Bright Matte Canvas, Sunset Select Matte Canvas, Sunset Select Gloss Canvas and Sunset Select
Satin Canvas SUV (engineered for solvent, low-solvent and UV-curable printers).
The kits are now available and shipping from LexJet's nationwide network of distribution centers. LexJet has also released two how-to videos at its
YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/lexjet) that detail the entire canvas wrap process using the Sunset Pro and HD Pro Stretcher Kits.

“In the some 12 years that I have been setting up companies to resell Expand displays, the question always comes up: ‘What do you recommend as media
to print on?’ For years we had no answer,” explains Don Johnson, National Account Manager for Expand International of America Inc. “That’s why I am
excited about working with LexJet. Now we can offer our printers a reliable source of solvent and aqueous media that has been proven in our hardware.
They work and are a real value. That is what people want.”
The feeling is mutual, according to LexJet’s product manager Dione Metnick. “The Expand line of banner stands gives our customers a top-of-the-line choice
to combine with LexJet’s media for the discerning end user – an end user who understands that for a slightly higher price in the short term they’ll save
money over the long haul, especially with the lifetime warranty that comes with the banner stands,” says Metnick.
The following Expand banner stands are now available and shipping from one of LexJet’s nationwide distribution centers for one- to two-day delivery

“We love the Expand banner stands because the hardware is ten times better than anything else out there. Expand has always been great if we’ve had
any issues with the banner stands, which we rarely ever do,” says Carrie Dubbelde of FASTSIGNS, Roseville, Minn. “We have a group of customers who
only want the Expand banner stands because they understand the value they bring from a cost standpoint over time and the impact they make for them
at a trade show, special event or other display application.”
Building on more than 15 years of researching, developing and bringing award-winning inkjet printable canvas products to the fine art, photography
and graphics markets, LexJet introduces Sunset Reserve Matte Canvas and Sunset Reserve Bright Matte Canvas.
Both canvas products are now available and shipping from one of LexJet’s ten nationwide distribution centers and, like all LexJet products, come with a
30-day money-back guarantee. Sunset Reserve Matte Canvas and Sunset Reserve Bright Matte Canvas round out a diverse portfolio of LexJet inkjet
canvas products that include the award-winning Sunset Select Matte Canvas and Sunset Select Gloss Canvas, the solvent and UV curable compatible
Sunset Select Satin Canvas SUV, and Instant Dry Satin Canvas.
“Both versions of the Sunset Reserve Canvas have a nice subtle texture for true artistic color-critical canvas reproduction,” explains Alex Ried, LexJet
product manager. “And, since some customers prefer a bright white base to a more neutral white tone and vice-versa it was important to offer that option
with the same performance, quality, consistency and color gamut.”
Compatible with aqueous printers from Canon, Epson and HP – and specially engineered to take advantage of the wider color gamuts provided by the
latest generation of their printers – both canvas products are perfect for a variety of applications, from commercial and corporate graphics to gallery and
museum wraps and other fine art and photographic output. Both are optimized for LexJet’s Sunset Coatings – Gloss and Satin – and work well with other
spray and roll-on protective coatings.
“It prints great. I love it because when I profiled the canvas, I could amp up the sharpness with photography and get more detail out of it. And, the coating
allows for a high ink load, so if someone wants to produce high-quality prints they can do it with this canvas,” says Mark Lakey, owner and president of
Art Warehouse, Chattanooga, Tenn., who prints for renowned photographers and artists. “You see more vibrancy with this canvas in color prints and for
black and white printing I can hit the tonality marks I’m after.”
Sunset Reserve Matte Canvas has a neutral-white finish that produces a wide color gamut without optical brighteners. Sunset Reserve Bright Matte
Canvas features a bright white base. Both are a water resistant, acid-free and pH-neutral with a poly/cotton blend so they’re easily stretched for gallery
and museum wraps.
They are both available in 17-in., 24-in., 36-in., 44-in., and 60-in. widths in 40-ft. roll lengths on 3-in. cores. Sunset Reserve Bright Matte Canvas is also
available in 50-in. and 54-in. widths.
LexJet has updated its line of PSA laminates and backers to provide a practical way for print shops to produce and sell laminated large format inkjet solutions
to their customers, and provide added value for added profits.
"We've taken our 17 years of experience developing inkjet media, laminates and backers, as well as crucial input and advice from our customers, to give
them a product line they can sell and depend upon,” says LexJet product manager Dione Metnick. "The whole point of a laminate is to enhance and protect
the graphic, and exceed the end user's design and visual expectations. We used that criteria as our baseline, then built our laminates and backers to
eliminate costly color shifts and adhesive failures for the dependability and consistency our customers require.”
Conveniently grouped into three basic product categories – Performance, Elite and Specialty – print shops have a simple yet diverse choice of superior
laminates not available elsewhere in various thicknesses, base materials, textures and widths. The adhesives in all three product lines are compatible
with aqueous, low solvent, solvent, UV curable and latex inks.
"I have never noticed any discoloration with a LexJet laminate, as opposed to others I've seen that tend to yellow over time or give the graphic a different
tint,” says Christian Schmid of Essyx Design + Fabrication, Johnson City, Tenn. "When our customers invest in graphics they don't want them damaged,
either by UV or people handling them, so we make sure we give them the peace of mind that comes with a more durable, brighter laminate.”
Performance: The industry's best-in-class economically priced line of laminates and backers. Like all LexJet products, they come with a 30-day money
back guarantee and are built to last. Most products in the Performance line feature the same high-quality adhesives and base materials as the Elite line.
Specialty: This product line was designed based on customer feedback for warranted, durable laminates that meet all the demands of specialty
applications, including floor, carpet, vehicle wrap, optically clear and dry-erase.
Elite: Offers the highest possible performance and quality that exceeds the durability and visual expectations of end users. Most products in the Elite line
come with a Lifetime Warranty, while all of them feature the most durable solvent acrylic adhesive in the industry and PreLume, an optical reflection
technology built into the Elite laminates that ensures brighter and cleaner white areas for a longer period of time. PreLume Inside means greater contrast
and dynamic range, producing graphics that stand out and grab the attention of passersby in a variety of indoor applications.
PreLume, licensed by LexJet in 2003, is only one innovation in a long line of innovations since LexJet introduced the first reverse-print polycarbonate
(LexJet Clear) to the graphics market in 1994. Since that time LexJet pioneered the first white backer to partner with LexJet Clear, the first
polycarbonate laminate guaranteed not to tunnel or delaminate, the next generation of solvent acrylic mounting adhesives, new adhesives resistant to
and compatible with solvent and UV-curable inks and the first Lifetime Warranty, to name just a few.
The Latest Lifetime Warranty for Trade Show Graphics
LexJet recently added LexJet 10 Mil Opaque Display Film laminated with either 10 Mil PreLume ExhibitGuard or LexJet 10 Mil PreLume DisplayFlex to its
tradeshow solutions that come with a lifetime warranty against tunneling and delamination. The lifetime warranty provides LexJet customers with both peace of
mind and an additional sales tool to help differentiate their graphics in the competitive tradeshow market.
"Not everyone who buys graphics from you will need something that's basically indestructible and comes with a lifetime warranty. However, it can round out
your product offering so that you can satisfy whatever needs your end user customer may have,” explains John Lane, LexJet's vice president. "It's about
having the right solution for the right application to meet and exceed your customer's expectations. That drives repeat business and elevates your value as
a graphics provider."
LexJet 10 Mil Opaque Display Film is a bright-white, high gloss polyester film with an instant-dry coating and light blocking layer designed for quick and simple
production. LexJet 10 Mil PreLume ExhibitGuard is a polycarbonate laminating film that enhances both the look and durability of the finished graphics. LexJet
10 Mil PreLume DisplayFlex is a rigid, medium gauge copolymer laminating film that's easy to trim and handle.
Both laminates incorporate PreLume, an optical reflection technology that ensures brighter and cleaner white areas, producing graphics that stand out and
grab the attention of passersby in a variety of indoor applications.
The other product combination that comes with a lifetime warranty is LexJet's flagship tradeshow solution – LexJet Clear PreLume HD backed with one of
LexJet's PreLume Opaque White Backers.
Each product combination has been tested and developed to ensure a solid bond between the two materials – either backer or laminate with the base printable
material – so that the graphics will not split, tear or delaminate, regardless of how many times the graphics are shipped, unpacked, installed, packed and
LexJet has improved its award-winning Sunset photo paper line to take advantage of the wider color gamuts provided by the latest inkjet printer and ink
technologies from Canon, Epson and HP.
Sunset Photo eSatin, Sunset Photo Gloss and Sunset Photo Semi-Matte are also thicker and heavier to make production and handling smoother and easier.
Sunset Photo eSatin and Sunset Photo Gloss weigh in at 300g and 11.5 mils thick; Sunset Semi-Matte is 270g and 10.5 mils thick.
“Sunset photo papers have always been a popular choice for discerning professional photographers and print shops who want to deliver prints to their
customers that are more substantial and durable than mass-market inkjet papers,” says Alex Ried, LexJet product manager. “Because they’re delivering a
print that not only feels like a high-quality product, but produces super color and excellent contrast, Sunset photo papers are a key component of their
customer retention and referrals.”
Ried adds that choosing between the three Sunset photo papers for a given project is subjective. “It depends on what you like, how you would prefer to
present your images, and most importantly, what your customers like,” he says.
For a beautiful satin finish similar to the E-surface papers used in traditional darkroom printing, Sunset Photo eSatin Paper has been the go-to photo paper for
wedding, portrait, outdoor and exhibition photography, as well as high-end display graphics projects. Sunset Photo Semi-Matte has a similar gloss level to
eSatin, but with a smoother finish. Sunset Photo Gloss, as the name implies, provides a smooth, high-gloss finish for maximum impact.
“First of all, I love the weight of the Sunset Photo eSatin. Compared to any other paper, it just screams quality, plus the colors are perfectly accurate and the
saturation is gorgeous,” says Jeff Bowman of Commonwealth Photography in Chester, Va. “It is superior to lab prints, hands-down. I’ve used it for competitions
and have had other photographers come to us for prints because the quality is so good.”
All three of the next-generation Sunset photo papers are available from LexJet’s nationwide network of distribution centers in a variety of sizes, from 8 1/2 in.
x 11 in. sheets to 60 in. x 100 ft. rolls.
LexJet Releases Next-Generation Production Photo Papers
For print shops, sign companies, in-house print facilities and other businesses with wide-format printing capabilities, LexJet has improved its popular line of
production inkjet photo papers to maximize the latest aqueous inkjet technology and to help ensure the most efficient and cost-effective production workflow
LexJet's next-generation production photo papers – 8 Mil Production Satin Photo Paper, 8 Mil Production Gloss Photo Paper, 8 Mil ImagePro Satin and 8 Mil
ImagePro Gloss – have been updated to provide optimum image quality with the latest aqueous-ink wide-format printers from HP, Canon and Epson.
"ImagePro Gloss and Satin are thicker and heavier premium papers, making them easier to handle in production while creating greater perceived value with
end-use customers for applications like stand-alone posters," says Alex Ried, LexJet's product manager. "Production Gloss and Satin are an economical
alternative perfect for all kinds of point-of-sale and display graphics applications."
The new microporous coating found on both the ImagePro and Production photo papers dries instantly for worry-free, high-volume production. Prints are ready
to handle and laminate almost immediately for faster turnaround on time-sensitive projects. Moreover, the improved white point provides sharper image quality,
a wider color gamut and greater contrast.
"We typically use 8 Mil Production Satin Photo Paper because we love the finish and it works well for everyday printing on jobs both large and small," says
Christian Schmid, production manager for Essyx design + fabrication in Johnson City, Tenn. "The prints always turn out right, the image quality is very
consistent and the price point is great."
All of the new production photo papers are available in standard roll widths and lengths, from 24 to 60 inches wide on 100-foot and 200-foot rolls, and are
available and shipping from one of LexJet's nationwide network of distribution centers.
The Possibilities are Endless with 6 Mil LexJet Simple Translucent Vinyl
LexJet’s latest product, Simple Translucent Vinyl, is a premium 6-mil translucent vinyl that produces stunning and vibrant backlit graphics, perfect for retail signs,
menu boards, bus displays, taxi tops, and more. The adhesive bonds to a variety of surfaces, making the possibilities of the product endless, and the vinyl is
easy to install and removes cleanly for up to one year.
LexJet product line manager Dione Metnick says that Simple Translucent Vinyl allows customers to produce colorful backlit graphics with uniform light diffusion
across the entire image. “Simple Translucent Vinyl saves time and money in production because it’s so simple to apply, plus you don’t have to laminate it,”
adds Metnick. Compatible with printers that use solvent, low-solvent, and UV-curable inks, Simple Translucent Vinyl is versatile and easy to work with, thanks
to its 6-mil thickness and premium removable adhesive.
Owner of ARTAttack Graphic Designs in El Dorado, AZ, designer Lindsey Perry recently used Simple Translucent Vinyl for a customer who wanted to
display signage on windows. “The translucent vinyl printed beautifully, and was so easy to install. It worked out really well for the customer and my company.”
The customer was thrilled with the results, and has since ordered more displays from ARTAttack.
Use LexJet Simple Indoor FloorAd and CarpetAd Adhesive Vinyls to Do
More with a Floor
To meet the growing demand for floor graphics that are easy to install and remove, LexJet’s new line of Simple
adhesive vinyls includes Simple Indoor FloorAd and Simple CarpetAd. These two high-quality, economy-priced
adhesive vinyls can be used with one of four LexJet anti-slip laminating films to produce color-consistent
directional signs, decals, point-of-purchase ads, and exhibit graphics on most types of bare or carpeted floors.
LexJet Simple Indoor FloorAd and CarpetAd are designed for use on large-format inkjet printers that use low-
solvent, solvent, and UV-curable inks.
The bright-white surface of the vinyl provides optimal reproduction of brand colors and images, and ICC profiles
are available for achieving predictable, consistent, and repeatable colors. Simple Indoor FloorAd and CarpetAd
have the opacity required to keep the colors and patterns of the underlying floor surface or carpet from showing
through the graphic.
LexJet Simple Indoor FloorAd (priced at $0.27/sq. ft.) is a 3.4 mil, opaque white matte vinyl for producing
temporary graphics for display on clean, indoor floor surfaces. The vinyl is backed by a high-performance,
removable adhesive that bonds well to a variety of floor types, including waxed and non-waxed commercial
PVC tile, sealed concrete, smooth ceramic tile, and linoleum. Graphics printed on the vinyl can be easily
removed for up to six months without leaving unsightly adhesive residue.
LexJet Simple CarpetAd (priced at $0.37/sq. ft.) is a 3.4 mil, opaque white matte vinyl for producing temporary
graphics on carpeted floors. The adhesive on this vinyl is removable for up to six months on the types of short-
nap/tight-weave carpets typically used in the high-traffic areas of commercial facilities.
“Floor graphics are an increasingly popular form of advertising because they are so cost-effective. They enable
promotional messages to be placed on otherwise blank space in high-traffic areas without the extra expense of
display systems,” explains LexJet product manager Dione Metnick. “Offering floor graphics can be a great way
for printing firms and sign companies to diversify their product lines and boost profits.”
Mark Jacques, director of print services for 11th Hour Business Solutions in Orlando, FL, has built a niche
business around floor graphics by suggesting some of the fun and creative ways floor graphics can be used
by the companies that host special events at the hotels surrounding major convention centers. His print-services
team has produced and installed floor graphics to guide attendees from nearby hotels to the Orange County
Convention Center, to promote event sponsors, and to add an extra element of corporate identity and visual
interest to the meeting space itself.
“I chose to use LexJet Simple Indoor FloorAd and CarpetAd vinyls for the floor graphics after testing both materials
thoroughly on a variety of floor and carpet surfaces,” says Jacques. “I like the fact that the Simple vinyls produce
consistency in brand colors whether I am producing graphics for the hotel’s tiled floors or carpeted meeting rooms.
The materials install easily and remove cleanly, making it easy to change out the graphics every time the hotel hosts
When graphics printed on LexJet Simple Indoor FloorAd or CarpetAd are properly installed, maintained, and
protected with one of LexJet’s anti-slip laminating films, LexJet will provide a Floor Advertising Warranty to assure
customers that the graphics are suitable and safe for floor advertising for up to 180 days after installation.
LexJet anti-slip laminating films that can be used to produce the LexJet-warranted Floor Advertising Systems
include LexJet 3 Mil or 6 Mil GraphicsGuard Gloss Floor Laminates, LexJet 5 Mil GraphicsGuard Velvet Floor
Laminate, and T-Flex. The GraphicsGuard Gloss films provide exceptional clarity and give graphics more visual
pop. The GraphicsGuard 5 Mil Velvet and T-Flex films both have a textured surface that minimizes glare from
LexJet Simple Indoor FloorAd and CarpetAd are available in 20-ft., 150-ft. and 300-ft. rolls, making it practical to
produce just a few floor graphics at a time as needed or higher-volume jobs for major advertising campaigns.
LexJet WallPro SUV Enables More Detailed Designs in Custom
Because LexJet’s new bright white WallPro SUV wallcoverings are optimized for inkjet printing, designers
can confidently reproduce a wider choice of images, designs, and corporate colors.
LexJet’s new WallPro™ SUV commercial-grade wallcovering materials were specifically designed to deliver
optimal imaging quality when printed with the low solvent, solvent, or UV-curable inks used with many
popular models of large-format inkjet printers. As a result, designers can convert almost any type of
photograph, painting, graphic design, or montage into site-specific, decorative murals.
The custom murals can be displayed in corporate offices and lobbies, museums, restaurants, hotels, resorts,
healthcare facilities, retail stores, universities, sport and entertainment venues, and homes. LexJet WallPro
SUV can also be used to create indoor or outdoor art for temporary or seasonal displays.
“Whether you chose to print historical photos, scenic landscapes, corporate brand images, art reproductions
or other types of designs on LexJet WallPro, the material can handle the job,” says LexJet product manager
Jeff Leto. The bright white, matte surface of these materials help produce the wide color gamut needed to
show more highlight and shadow details in an image, support smooth tonal gradations, and reproduce
The relatively subtle textures in these wallcoverings were selected to enhance the overall aesthetics of a
decorated room without degrading key details in the printed artwork or images. Four textures are currently
WallPro SUV Velvet is the most versatile, because it features a smooth, softly textured surface for reproducing
high-resolution images. It is recommended for use in corporate environments, healthcare facilities, entertainment
venues, and retail.
WallPro SUV Canvas looks like a finely woven art canvas. It is ideal for reproducing artwork and photographs
and is a great choice for museums, restaurants, and hotels. It can even be used to create short-term
economical gallery wraps for indoor or outdoor décor art.
WallPro SUV Fresco has a subtle, plaster-like texture that is perfect for certain types of restaurant décor or
printing historical images in museums or themed retail environments. Images printed on this wallpaper can
appear as if they have been painted directly on the wall.
WallPro SUV Pebble is a good option for décor clients who want to see a stronger, more visible texture behind
an image with softer details.
All of LexJet’s WallPro SUV wallcoverings meet Class A fire-rating standards and EPA requirements for
Brandboxx Display Graphics, a division of Park Printing House Ltd., has been producing environmental
graphics for the past seven years for facilities ranging from retail stores and sports facilities to brew pubs
and visitor centers. Brandboxx chose LexJet’s new Velvet WallPro™ SUV to print the backdrop for a
creative, multi-dimensional mural that the company uses to showcase the wide range of production
capabilities at the company’s facilities in Verona, WI.
“Visuals are one of our best tools for selling large-format graphics,” explains Brandboxx product manager Mike
Stolen, noting that most customers who see the mural go up to the wall and feel it. Stolen said he was
pleased with the look and performance of LexJet’s WallPro material: “We found the product was a bit
thinner, but did run better with our printers. Our install team thought it went it up great!”
WallPro SUV materials can be printed on any large-format inkjet printer that uses low solvent, solvent, or
UV-curable inks. LexJet Sunset Coatings can be applied to add protection to wallcoverings that will be
installed in busy restaurants, kids’ rooms, or other high-traffic areas. But in most cases, a coating isn’t required.
Because WallPro materials are designed for long-term use, professional installation by an experienced
paperhanger is recommended.

Wide-Format Printing Technologies Reviewed and Previewed at
On Aug. 14, LexJet hosted its 2008 Technology Review at the LexJet Technology Center in Sarasota, Fla.,
for a broad range of companies representing the spectrum of the wide-format digital printing industry, including
commercial printing companies, sign companies, service bureaus, photography studios, and in-house print shops
from the beverage distributor market.
The event offered wide-format printing professionals the opportunity to meet the people driving technological
progress in the industry, learn more about the various printing processes and where they’re headed over the
next few years, see first-hand all the different avenues in which the technology is employed, and engage in
hands-on demonstrations and training.
Attendees at the 2008 Technology Review also got a first look at Digital Equipment Company’s new Legend
98HUV, a 98-in. hybrid (roll-to-roll and flatbed) UV-curable printer, which is scheduled for release in early 2009.
"The event was a great opportunity for us to see different types of wide-format printers operating at the same
time. We went to the event mainly interested in UV-curable, and we were impressed with the Legend 72HUV,"
says John Hart, owner of Hart Graphics, based in Knoxville, Tenn. "We got to see a lot of different aspects of
wide-format printing in a short period of time, and it was interesting and helpful to see the different types of
substrates you can print on all displayed in one place."
Throughout the day, attendees rotated between four educational sessions that focused on consumables,
printers, and software. In addition to demonstrations by industry leaders Digital Equipment Company,
Hewlett-Packard, Canon, FLEXcon, Mutoh, Hahnemuhle, and OKI Printing Solutions, long-time industry
expert Dr. Ray Work presented a thorough and balanced examination of the environmental issues facing the
As part of his hour-long presentation, Dr. Work gave an overview of the impact each type of ink technology
used in wide-format printing - water-based, solvent, and UV-curable - has on the environment, as well as
practical advice on how best to mitigate the impact of each both inside and outside the work environment.
Another presentation, headed up by LexJet technical support specialist Justin Sherry, focused on the latest
software update from ONYX, Workflow Software Version 7.2. Sherry laid out the tools necessary to build
and maintain an efficient and profitable print workflow using time-saving features like Quicksets.
The focus of the event was to explore, explain, and demonstrate every technology available for wide-format
printers, arming attendees with the information needed to make an informed decision about the right technology
for their particular market. From the high-volume, small-format LED-based signage printers made by OKI Printing
Solutions, to Mutoh’s ValueJet line of solvent printers, and the more industrial UV-curable printers by HP and
Digital Equipment Company, attendees were provided with an in-depth review of all the printer types available
to their businesses. Moreover, various wide-format applications plastered the walls, floors, and windows of the
Technology Center, showing the capabilities of media solutions from FLEXcon, LexJet, and Hahnemuhle.
For Hart, who was already convinced that UV-curable printing was the logical next step for his company, the
event helped him gain more in-depth knowledge of UV-curable technology. Hart Graphics is scheduled to
install Digital Equipment Company’s 72-in. hybrid UV-curable printer, the Legend 72HUV, in early September.
"Having a chance for hands-on time with the printers was a big deal for us, and our print operator benefitted
from learning more about the UV-curable print process, as well as the similarities and differences between it
and solvent and aqueous printing," says Hart. "The opportunity to examine the printer closely made a big
difference, because we were able to see firsthand the robust construction of the Legend 72HUV, and get a
close look at the components that make up the printer. The fact that the Legend uses high-end components,
is solidly constructed, and produces brilliant color in comparison with other UV-curable systems really influenced
The 2008 Technology Review was capped with a sunset dinner cruise on Sarasota Bay for a final round of food,
drinks, and networking. Based on the success of the event, LexJet has tentative plans to hold another
Technology Review in early 2009. For more information about the 2008 Technology Review and future events

LexJet Brings Fine Art Canvas Printing Capability to SUV Printers
April 25, 2008 - Sarasota, Fla. With wide-format print shops looking for ways to increase market share and
delve into new and profitable high-end markets, LexJet introduces Sunset Select Gloss Canvas SUV and Sunset
Select Satin Canvas SUV, which are compatible with solvent, low-solvent, and UV-curable printers (SUV).
The cotton/poly blend Sunset Select Canvas SUV products are based on LexJet’s award-winning Sunset line of
fine art and photographic papers and canvases preferred by professional photographers and fine-art
reproduction companies for their extremely wide color gamut and high Dmax, as well as their ability to hold fine
"The secret is in the coating of the canvas, which was painstakingly developed to maximize dot control,
boost apparent resolution, and expand the color gamut for solvent and UV-curable printing," says Alex Ried,
LexJet’s product manager. "As one of the primary developers of aqueous inkjet fine-art and photographic
media, we’ve translated our success with water-based technology into the solvent and UV-curable realm."
Sunset Select Gloss Canvas SUV and Sunset Select Satin Canvas SUV join LexJet’s growing line of solvent
and UV-curable fine art and photographic inkjet media, which includes Sunset Fine Art Gloss SUV by
Hahnemuhle, Prime Gloss SUV, and Prime Satin SUV.
"Because solvent printing was initially designed for outdoor signage and UV-curable printing for direct-to-board
graphics applications, continuous tone detail and high image resolution were not the most important
considerations," explains Camillia Mankovich, LexJet’s marketing director. "But as these markets have matured,
our customers have been looking for new avenues that offer higher margins and a greater return on their
solvent and UV-curable printer investment. Our market research has shown that there are vast, untapped
opportunities for print shops in the fine art and décor markets."
Sunset Select Gloss Canvas SUV and Sunset Select Satin Canvas SUV are both available in 54 in. x 75 ft.
and 60 in. x 75 ft. rolls, as well as a 30 in. x 30 ft. sample roll, and come with LexJet’s 30-day money-back
LexJet's New Inkjet Cartridge Packaging is Fully Recyclable
March 26, 2008 - Sarasota, Fla. LexJet has developed fully recyclable packaging for its line of remanufactured

ongoing commitment to responsible environmental programs for its customers and the printing industry.
Participants in LexJet's Inkjet Cartridge Recycling Program who utilize LexJet Ink for HP 5000/5500 printers will
receive their recycled ink in the updated packaging. Everything contained in the packaging - including the box,
the bag, and the inkjet cartridge - is recyclable.
"LexJet's environmental philosophy is rooted in the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We also adhere to an
additional 3R ethical code regarding the development and presentation of our environmental initiatives and
programs - Real, Responsible, and Right," says John Lane, LexJet's vice president. "LexJet pursues
responsible and practical solutions - like our new recyclable packaging - that actually reduce the industry's
environmental impact while helping our customers and those who buy and use our customers' graphics with
high-quality, economical solutions."
Since 2005 LexJet has recycled more than 100,000 HP 5000/5500 inkjet cartridges. LexJet's Inkjet Cartridge
Recycling Program was recently expanded to include a broader range of cartridges for HP, Epson, and Canon
Participants in LexJet's HP 5000/5500 Ink program receive a $2 credit with each returned cartridge. Those
who recycle any of the other cartridges in LexJet's expanded Inkjet Cartridge Recycling Program do not
receive a credit. LexJet will ensure the cartridges and their components are properly recycled, reused, or
disposed of properly.
"After extensive research and examining the life cycle of a typical product in our industry, we felt the most
economical, and responsible path was toward recycling or reusing as much of our products as possible.
Therefore, we will continue to research and develop 3R-oriented programs for all of our product lines, from ink
to inkjet media," says Lane.

LexJet's Expanded Inkjet Cartridge Recycling Program Reduces
September 13, 2007 - Sarasota, Fla. As part of an ongoing and comprehensive program of company-wide
environmental initiatives aimed at significantly reducing the wide-format and photographic industries'
environmental impact, LexJet announces its expanded Inkjet Cartridge Recycling Program.
The program builds on LexJet’s extremely successful recycling program for HP 5000/5500 Series printer
cartridges, through which more than 100,000 cartridges have been recycled since the program’s inception in
The Inkjet Cartridge Recycling Program gives wide-format and photographic print providers a convenient method
for returning used inkjet cartridges that will then be re-used or processed into recycled raw materials for use in
consumer products. The program currently supports 18 cartridge models for both wide-format and desktop inkjet
printers manufactured by HP, Canon, and Epson, and will continue to grow to support the recycling of a variety
of aqueous- and solvent-based inkjet printer cartridges.
"After researching and evaluating the best methods for reducing environmental impact in our industries, we
found that environmental programs incorporating the 3 Rs - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle - are the most
effective means possible to do so," says John Lane, LexJet's vice president. "The Inkjet Cartridge Recycling
Program is one of many steps LexJet is taking to provide the inkjet printing industry with programs that offer
measurable, concrete results toward reducing the industry's environmental impact."
The program is free and easy to use. Participants will be provided with pre-paid shipping labels and envelopes
in which they will pack and ship their used cartridges to LexJet. Once those used cartridges are received,
participants will receive another pre-paid shipping label and envelope to continue their recycling efforts.
"Each cartridge returned to LexJet undergoes a series of stringent procedures at our state-of-the-art recycling
center. The majority of returned cartridges will be reused for the production of ink replacement cartridges,"
explains Lane. "If the cartridge is not reusable, LexJet will dismantle and recycle the cartridge components. In
either case, LexJet's processes ensure that toxic ink and solid waste are not disposed of in landfills, and that
recyclable plastics are properly accounted for and transported to recycling centers."
For more information about LexJet's environmental initiatives and the cartridge models supported under the Inkjet
Cartridge Recycling Program, and to register for the program, go to LexJet's Environmental Initiatives Web page,
or call a LexJet account specialist at (800) 453-9538.

"This is the best general-purpose vinyl available on the market, and at 16 cents per square foot the vinyl’s
combined quality and economy is unbeatable," says Jeff Leto, LexJet’s product manager. "It also allows our
customers to reduce their inventory investment significantly since they only have to stock one solution for their
outdoor signage needs."
Offered in gloss and semi-matte finishes, LexJet 55 Intermediate Adhesive Vinyl is available in widths from 36 in.
to 60 in., and 150 ft. lengths, plus a 36-in. x 15-ft. sample size that’s only $21 per roll. It is backed by LexJet’s

Oct. 27, 2006 - Sarasota, Florida. Responding to customer demands for a fabric-printing solution that eliminates
the costs and inefficiencies of multi-step dye-sublimation transfer technologies, LexJet introduces the industry's
only viable one-step, direct-to-textile printer, the 72"-wide TexPress DSS-1800 II. The printer and companion
TexPress Light Fast Inks will be sold and supported in the U.S. exclusively by LexJet.
The TexPress DSS-1800 II prints directly to untreated polyester fabric utilizing a special water-based pigmented
ink. It can also print on treated polyester, if desired, and produces vibrant, water- and light-fast prints that are
outdoor durable for up to two years.
"The killer feature of this printer is that it is literally a one-step process. There's no need for a transfer process
of any sort, and it cuts the fabric during the printing process with built-in heat cutters," explains Dean Lambert,
LexJet's vice president. "It's not the horizontal cuts that are so difficult and time-consuming; it's the continuous
vertical cut as the material runs through the printer that can be problematic. The TexPress solves this problem
with high-precision sensors that guide the heated elements as they cut, adjusting to the natural movement of
the fabric as it spools through the printer."
Currently, the inks are formulated to print only on polyester fabric, and the polyester needs to be heat-shrunk
before printing. Most available polyester fabrics are pre-shrunk, but the pre-shrinking can also be done on the
TexPress prior to printing with the optional heating elements that double as cutters.
"Our first installation sites report saving 30-40 hours of production time per week, thanks to the heat cutters
and the elimination of the dye-sub transfer step. The consumable costs are also significantly lower. There's no
need for transfer paper, plus the printer uses about half the ink typically used in dye-sub printing," says Camillia
Mankovich, LexJet's marketing director.
The printer has six printheads (CMYKMC), and three resolution modes: 360 x 360 dpi Two Pass (344 square
feet per hour), 360 x 720 dpi Four Pass (172 square feet per hour), and 720 x 720 dpi Eight Pass (86 square
feet per hour).
The TexPress starts at $79,900, which includes a one-year warranty.
