GTI Announces Soft View SOFV-1xiQ Soft Proofing System
GTI Graphic Technology, Inc. the leading manufacturer of lighting systems for critical color viewing, color communication, and color match assessment
today announced that Soft View model SOFV-1xiQ has been awarded a 2013 Must See 'Em award. Must See 'Ems are awarded to products that
represent the most compelling products on the PRINT 13 show floor. GTI will be demonstrating the Soft View model SOFV-1xiQ at Print 2013,
scheduled to begin September 8, 2013 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.
The Soft View SOFV-1xiQ is a desktop soft proofing system that easily provides accurate color comparisons between hard copy prints and computer
monitors. The SOFV-1xiQ includes a viewing station and the revolutionary wireless iQ sensor. The system enables superb lighting uniformity with a small
desktop footprint that meets ISO 3664:2009 D50 light quality for superior color rendition.
Robert McCurdy, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at GTI states, “The new SOFV-1xiQ represents a significant improvement versus standard
lighting products for soft proofing because it intelligently and automatically matches the luminance level of the viewing station to that of the monitor.”
McCurdy adds, “The wireless connectivity between the revolutionary iQ sensor and viewing station provides automatic luminance matching,
automatic calibration, and ambient light monitoring ensuring that ISO 3664:2009 D50 standards are met.”
Higher Quality and Production Efficiency
A system to quickly and easily achieve accurate and consistent viewing station to monitor calibration has not existed until the introduction of the
SOFV-1xiQ. The 1xiQ removes the manual processes and guess work from soft proofing and replaces it with an automated streamlined process that
will shorten the production cycle, reduce cost, and improve customer satisfaction.
GTI at Print 2013
Print 2013, North America’s largest industry trade show, is scheduled for September 8th to 12th at McCormick place in Chicago. GTI will be located in
booth #4437 at the show. In addition to the SOFV-1xiQ, GTI will highlight a wide-range of products including color viewing stations, desktop viewers,
color rendition demonstrators, color matching systems, and wall viewing systems.
Print 2013 will be the first time GTI shows a wall viewing system in North America. These systems are ideal for areas where use of a color viewing station is
not possible. GTI wall systems will be shown by GTI and EFI (#2602).
In the Idealliance booth (#4877) GTI will feature a custom made soft proofing, multi-source station and a Simultaneous Color Viewer. Additional products
will be on display in Alwan Color (# 4948) and ColorHQ (#4948) booths.
GTI Graphic Technology, Inc. has been designing and manufacturing critical color viewing and inspection
systems since 1975 and is known for having the most accurate rendition of D50 daylight standards
commercially available. While their ability to design and manufacture Color Image Viewing and Color Matching
and Appearance Systems for their loyal and valued customers has not changed in 30 years, there have been
fundamental technological changes in the production workflow for both color images and all colored materials.
Digital tools, in particular new display technologies that deliver highly accurate and repeatable color gamut
reproduction, are helping all color critical industries to reduce costs while maintaining high quality to stay
competitive. GTI has stayed ahead of the technological curve by focusing on customer needs as well as the
integration of computer aided color viewing into color critical workflows.
To reflect their ability to remain current and cutting edge in the Color Evaluation arena, the choice to come out
with a new brand look for GTI seemed like the logical next step. "Our new GTI logo and tagline will set the
pace of our marketing efforts into the future," says Frederic McCurdy, President, GTI. "We feel the tagline
best describes what GTI is all about and coupled with the logo it will become the brand that represents the
best choice for controlled color viewing products."
Ashworth Creative of Rhinebeck, N.Y., set to the task of incorporating the graphic with the precision that the
GTI brand embodies. Isaac Ashworth, Art Director on the project says, "GTI needed a look that would reflect
their brand worldwide as the leader in precision color evaluation. It was important to keep it clean,
straightforward, and timeless."
