Contex Boosts Workgroup Productivity with IQ Quattro

Contex, the world's leader of wide format scanning and imaging solutions, today announces the IQ Quattro, a wide format scanner designed to
improve workgroup productivity by reducing the time spent on scanning tasks. Smarter than any other wide format scanner, the IQ Quattro is Gigabit
Ethernet networked with xDTR2 and is the market's only cloud-enabled wide format scanner. Workgroup users can specify local or cloud-based
destinations for scans using smartphones, tablets, and other devices for instant collaboration. The IQ Quattro boasts a sleek design and a top scanning
speed of 14 inches per second for color or monochrome documents -- just 3.5 seconds for A0 / E-size color documents.

Better than any competitive solution, the IQ Quattro also features Contex's unique CleanScan CIS module, which gives workgroup users the details they
need the first time for optimal productivity and efficiency. The IQ Quattro achieves this with dual-side LED light and ground-breaking methods for light
diffusion, shadows, and unwanted background. By suppressing shadows and unwanted background, the IQ Quattro produces crisp, sharp, and
natural scans.

The IQ Quattro is available in 24- and 44-inch models from authorized distributors and resellers worldwide.

Bringing project groups closer together

"We spend a lot of time with customers, and it is great to bring solutions to the market designed with their specific needs in mind," comments Morten
Nielsen, Marketing Director, Contex A/S. "The IQ Quattro is uniquely designed for sharing in an office and bringing project groups together through
cloud collaboration."

The IQ Quattro is Contex's 4th-generation CIS scanner. It contains proven technology from Contex's CCD range and CIS technology, refined to
match customers' requirements for quality, speed, and ease of use. The scanner's new magnetic document guides make loading long documents
easier and more precise, and detachable return guides simplify document handling.

A seamless part of a workgroup's day-to-day operation

Nielsen comments, "The new technology provides users with sharp and natural scans. It eliminates wrinkles and folds in originals and produces clear,
crisp scans - every time. And the smart ways of sharing with project teams at other sites make collaborating on large plans and documents a seamless
part of a workgroup's day-to-day operation."

Exclusive to Contex wide format scanners, the IQ Quattro is PageDrop-enabled for cloud computing. Users simply load a document, scan the QR code,
and the web-app will send the scanned image to the desired location: email, DropBox, HP ePRint, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, or Box.com.

Contex's Gigabit Network also comes standard with all IQ Quattro models. The fast network avoids bottlenecks by supporting speeds of up to 80 MB/sec.
The scanner can be networked with an entire workgroup, and one-touch buttons can send scans to users' desired locations. With its quick, 1-second
start from standby mode, the IQ Quattro makes it easy to be productive with scanning projects. More efficient than Energy Star requirements, the IQ
Quattro uses only 0.5W in standby mode.

Contex Unveils HD iFLEX A2

Contex, the world's leader of wide format scanning and imaging solutions, today announces the launch of the intuitively designed HD iFLEX flatbed
scanner. Speed, versatility, and an ultra-flexible design make the Contex HD iFLEX the perfect scanning solution for the demanding user. The HD
iFLEX's innovative design gives users the flexibility to capture originals without the restrictions typically associated with other flatbed scanners. For
example, its unique adjustable lid can be raised or removed to accommodate fragile, oversized, and thick originals, such as books, textiles,
newspapers, clippings, plants, stones, etc. The HD iFLEX is also capable of doubling its scanning area from A2/C-size to A1/D-size, and unlike other
flatbed scanners, its single camera design eliminates stitch errors in an image. The HD iFLEX ships September 27th and is available now for pre-order
from Contex distributors and resellers.

"The HD iFLEX builds upon Contex's history of driving innovation by offering users a scanner unmatched in image quality and adaptability," says Jacob
Bendix, General Manager EMEA-AP & Head of International Marketing. "The flatbed scanner can be used for a diverse range of applications.
Imagination is the only limit."

Scan Books and More with Flexible Color Spaces
The HD iFLEX uses a single CCD camera with full 600 x 600 dpi optical resolution to capture uneven materials in a single scan. It easily facilitates the
scanning of books and printed materials into several individual files or multipage images, with a counter to keep track of the pages as they are turned.
Ultra-bright LED light also delivers targeted, detail-enhancing illumination to originals by removing unwanted shadows from scans, only preserving
those necessary to give depth and texture. The flatbed scanner delivers images with high color fidelity in Adobe RGB, sRGB or even RAW RGB in
full 48-bit color.

The HD iFLEX uses the latest intuitive technology to streamline the scanning process, delivering a flatbed scanning experience unlike any other. For
example, Contex Nextimage software enables the HD iFLEX's oversized document scanning capability and supports Contex's one-touch, high-speed
scanning feature that captures an entire image in four seconds. Cloud-based solution PageDrop also simplifies scanning by allowing smartphone and
tablet users to send scans from the HD iFLEX directly to desired web destinations without a computer or additional software.

Contex Announces JPEG 2000 Compatibility with WIDEimageNET and JETimageNET Software

Herndon, Virginia - April 1, 2006 - Contex Scanning Technology, the global manufacturing leader in wide-format
document technologies, announces compatibility with the newest version of the JPEG format JPEG 2000.
Contex’ WIDEimageNET and JETimageNET both offer this new JPEG format as one of their many file formats
that a user can save their document to.

"Customers have asked for this critical file format compatibility and Contex is the first to offer this critical
breakthrough in what will become the new industry standard for saving scanned files within the wide format
industry for GIS, CAD and Photography" states Jorgen Rasmussen, Director of Development for Contex A/S.

JPEG 2000 is the latest series of standards from the JPEG committee. The original standard for digital images,
JPEG was developed 15 years ago, and with the major increase in computer technology since them, it was
felt to be time for a new standard capable of handling many more aspects than simply making the digital image
files as small as possible. JPEG 2000 uses 'wavelet' technology, and as well as being better at compressing
images (up to, and exceeding 20% more), it can allow an image to be retained without any distortion or loss of
data. Simply sending the first part of such a 'lossless' file to a receiver can result in a "lossy" version appearing
(like present JPEG) - but continuing to transmit the file results in the fidelity getting better and better until the
original image is restored.

One early use of JPEG 2000 will be as a base file format in image archives and databases. Traditionally, image
archives store multiple copies of an individual files at varying resolutions and quality levels so that they can
supply appropriate image data on request. In addition, considerable metadata is held about each image to
allow it to be easily classified and retrieved. This is critical to GIS applications, such as maps and aerial
photographs, or similar applications where the need for an extreme file compression of large data files. However,
JPEG2000 provides virtually no loss of image quality, and more importantly, without artifacts found in the traditional
JPEG format.

JPEG 2000 files typically can have extensive metadata stored with them, in a standard compliant XML environment.
As well as allowing selected metadata from an image database to be distributed to its users, this does permit
interchange of image files with metadata between databases, and removes the need for an extensive manual data
entry stage when cataloguing new images. In addition, the files can be stored at high quality in a lossless, color
managed environment, with conversion to lower resolution or lower quality performed 'on the fly'. The ability of
part of a JPEG 2000 file to be used for generation of such modified images also means that it becomes practical
to provide other capabilities on demand.

One example might be to watermark each image as delivered, not only with details which communicate authorship
or ownership, but also transactional information. This could include licensing restrictions, details of the customer,
or information which would allow the image to be easily recognized through some automated process designed to
test for breaches of copyright.

real-world objects, such as engine parts, buildings, and landscapes. Engineers use these physical representations
of electronic design concepts to communicate more effectively with customers, partners, and suppliers.
Applications include concept models, presentation models, functional testing, Finite Element Analysis (FEA),
sales presentations, and market research on style, color, and packaging options. 3D printing is widely used in
engineering markets including computer-aided design (CAD); geographic information systems (GIS); and
architecture, engineering and construction (AEC).

"We’re making 3D printing as easy and accessible to engineers as 2D printing," said Thomas Weldingh,
Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing, Contex. "Contex 3D printers are the world’s fastest and most
affordable, and our full-color capabilities are one-of-a-kind. 3D printing is for highly competitive companies that
want 3D models in-house and on demand. This expanding market is a natural for Contex, which today becomes
a global leader in color scanning and 3D printing solutions for engineering markets."

The value-priced Contex DESIGNmate Mx, whose 300x450 dpi resolution is the highest in its price class, creates
physical models directly from digital data in hours instead of days. It is fast, versatile, and simple to use, allowing
engineers to produce concept models and functional test parts inexpensively. The mono-chrome DESIGNmate
Mx’s straightforward user interface and affordable price make it the ideal entry-level prototyping system for office
environments and educational institutions.

The top-of-the-line Contex DESIGNmate Cx produces high-definition (600 x 540 dpi), full-color 3D models
quickly and affordably, eliminating the traditional week long waiting period for custom fabricated prototypes.
Superior inkjet printing technology creates parts with crisply defined features, enhanced accuracy, and precise
24-bit color, so engineers can evaluate accurate models of design concepts in their nearly finished state. Users
can leverage color capabilities to highlight and annotate physical models just as they would with a 2D drawing.

Contex Scanning Technology - 4/30/2004

Contex introduces the CRYSTAL XL 42” Scanner Faster, Wider, Better—the Next Generation is Here!

Miami Beach, Florida – April 30, 2004 – Contex Scanning Technology, the leader in wide-format color scanners,
announced at its annual Distributor’s conference the CRYSTAL XL 42” Scanner. The CRYSTAL XL 42” wide
format scanner is built on the already successful and established ‘Tx’ Technology, and incorporates the next
generation of state-of-the-art developments for enhanced scanning and copying speeds, high image quality,
fast monochrome scanning and includes the new Automatic Thick Media Adjustment Control (ATAC).

“The CRYSTAL XL 42” scanner delivers maximum B/W scanning speed that can’t be beat and with color image
quality required by professionals to deliver photo-realistic prints that rival the original,” says Thomas Weldingh,
Sales and Marketing Director for Contex European operations.

Integrated in this new release, is the compatibility of the ContexNET architecture. ContexNET architecture allows
for interoperability between all scanners and scanner clients in a local LAN environment and externally through the
internet, all this done by the use of a one-touch button.

The new CRYSTAL XL 42” represents a breakthrough in Scanning Technology from Contex and implements
several of Contex’ new patents, including: variable line resolution and adaptive error diffusion, making it one of
the most technologically versatile and advanced color scanners on the market. The CRYSTAL XL is an ideal
tool for the A/E/C, Mechanical and GIS CAD markets.

Feature Rich, Unmatched Quality and Scanning Speeds that set the Benchmark The CRYSTAL XL 42” raises
the standards in large document scanning by offering superior features such as, full 48 bit digital color capturing,
lightning speed—rated at 10”/sec in Black/White, 0.6”/sec in Color. The CRYSTAL XL is one of the first Large
Format Scanners to utilize a combination FireWire IEEE1394a and USB2.0 interface. The CRYSTAL XL is a
three camera scanner using a new generation of low noise, four-linear 7500 pixel CCD’s and offers an optical
scanning resolution of 508 dpi. “What this means is that we blend the best of both worlds. Instead of mixing the
Red, Green and Blue channel to get Black/White data, we now have a separate linear sensor for the Black/White
channel thus giving correct panchromatic Black/White data at a record setting speed of 10”/sec. Additionally,
the new CCD’s allow for 16-bit graytone, 48-bit color data capture and an optical resolution in excess of 500 dpi.
We also deliver the highest data fidelity in the industry” states Jorgen Rasmussen, Development director for Contex.
The CRYSTAL XL 42” is one of the first in a new generation of Contex color scanners offering Gray ADL+ error
diffusion, halftone, copying algorithm, which allows the error diffusion to be retained at a 16-bit graytone per channel
level as opposed to capturing at 1-bit Black/White level. This new capability adds compatibility to the newer
ink-jet printers that offer 1200 dpi or higher printing resolutions. What is really exciting about the new CRYSTAL XL
is its enhanced speed of 10”/sec and the new Gray Adaptive scanning mode. Instead of applying error diffusion and
sending a 1-bit data stream to the printer at a typical resolution of 300 dpi, we now send 8-bit data at 1200 dpi
resolution to the printer, allowing the printer to retain a much higher print quality of the scanned image as compared
to the 1-bit counterpart” states Henrik Vestermark, Vice President for North & South America.

Easy to Upgrade, Easy to Maintain and Easy to Use!
The CRYSTAL XL 42” comes in two flavors, a base version starting at $13,900 and a plus version, which retails
for $15,900. The base version is upgradeable to the plus version through a SmartCardTM “What differentiates
us among our competitors is our total automation of scanner maintenance. The CRYSTAL XL 42” utilizes Contex’
unique 3–C Scanner Maintenance System for easy calibration of the scanner, a utility program, which performs
automatic alignment, stitching, basic and advanced color calibrations, using a single calibration sheet. The
automated process utilizes motorized cameras to ensure perfect alignment and stitching. It’s now a fully
automated process” states Dan Bennett, Technical Support Manager for Contex.

Another breakthrough for the scanner industry is Contex’ built-in Advanced Power Management System that
ensures an optimal working temperature, and significantly reduces CCD noise. The Advanced Power Management
System allows users to leave the scanner in low-power mode and program it to power up automatically before
they arrive at work, saving money and adding convenience. The CRYSTAL XL 42” is supported on Windows
98, 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP.
