Michelman's Line Of Waterbased Decorative Coatings Enhances And
Differentiates Customers' Packaging
Cincinnati, OH (August 11, 2006) - Michelman, a leading manufacturer of waterbased coatings for paperboard
and waterbased performance-enhancing additives for industrial applications, offers a full line of decorative
coatings that are used around the world to enhance and differentiate customers' packaging. The decorative
coatings line includes the White coatings, ColorCoats and GlossCoat. All coatings are repulpable, recyclable
and energy efficient.
"There is often little noticeable difference between competing retail goods, because their packages all look the
same. Michelman's decorative coatings add the extra touch needed to make the products stand out, to give
them the polished look that grabs the attention of customers," said Tom Smith, Strategic Accounts Manager at
Michelman.
White coatings upgrade customers' packages by changing ordinary kraft paper into brilliant white linerboard at
reasonable coating weights. For waxed produce boxes, as well as other applications, White coatings can be a
major improvement over white paper, which usually darkens when waxed.
The ColorCoat line of coatings provides box makers with an easy way to add color to customers' boxes. With
ColorCoat coatings, many grades of existing kraft linerboard - white or natural - can be converted into any one
of hundreds of colors. ColorCoat coatings add color to retail displays, retail packages, and label backgrounds.
The GlossCoat line of coatings adds a light luster to corrugated and solid fiber, and can significantly reduce liner
porosity to improve sheet feeder and case erector performance. GlossCoat coatings are typically used to enhance
the visual appeal of beer and beverage packaging, POP displays, and retail packaging.
