HP Expands RIP Program for Optimal Customer Experience with HP
Latex Printing Technologies
HP today announced the next phase of its Raster Image Processor (RIP) Certification Program along with its
new Registered Latex Developer Program, which ensure a complete solution offering and an optimal customer
experience with the new HP Designjet L65500 Printer with HP Latex Printing Technologies.
Following the successful implementation of previous RIP certification programs for existing large-format printers,
HP has defined a comprehensive set of criteria to verify RIP compatibility and integration with the HP Designjet
L65500 Printer and provide excellent printing performance. Only third-party RIP vendors that have undergone HP
testing and met the exacting standards are awarded the "Certified for HP Designjet L65500 Printer" status.
"HP is dedicated to offering the best possible customer experience with the new HP Designjet L65500 Printer
with HP Latex Ink Technology by providing customers with an open technology system that allows them to take
advantage of the printer's performance," said Santiago Morera, vice president and general manager, Large
Format Printing Division, HP. "With these two partner development programs, HP ensures that our customers
receive the highest-possible compatibility with their existing workflows and media solutions, maximizing efficiency,
production ramp-up and customer satisfaction."
Additionally, HP is working with several leading signage media and substrate manufacturers to facilitate the
testing of their products with HP Latex Inks and the HP Designjet L65500 Printer. Third-party media vendors
that have participated in the media testing program and have satisfied their compatibility standards with HP
Latex Inks can note this agreement though the use of the Registered Latex Developer designation on applicable
products.
Coupled with HP's internal media validation program and the extensive range of compatible media available
from HP, users of the HP Designjet L65500 Printer can be assured of its high performance standards on a diverse
array of substrates for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications.
HP is currently teaming with major RIP vendors - including Caldera Graphics, ColorGATE, Ergosoft, ONYX
Graphics, Shiraz, SA International and more - to develop support for the HP Designjet L65500 Printer.
