ACE Train Wrapped with Avery Graphics Vinyl to Commemorate 10th
Anniversary
Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products Division, a leading provider of vinyl and screen print film products
for the sign and graphics industry, announced today that its MPI 1005 EZ and DOL 1000 products were printed
and applied by Wrapped Graphics, a wide format graphics provider headquartered in Stockton, Calif., to wrap
a full-size commuter train for Altamont Commuter Express (ACE®), a passenger rail service that runs between
Stockton and San Jose, Calif.
The train wrap was commissioned by the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission to commemorate the 10th
anniversary of the ACE passenger rail service. Wrapped Graphics used nearly 1,500 feet of vinyl to wrap the
ACE train engine, which is 82 feet long and 15 feet tall. The graphics for the ACE train wrap were printed with
an HP® 9000 printer. The wrap application for the engine alone took nearly five working days.
"For an application of this magnitude, we chose Avery Graphics MPI 1005 EZ vinyl because we needed a
robust vinyl that will endure the train’s daily commuter rides," says Larry Lawrence, owner and founder of
