The Kerfkore Company Unveils Color Literature On Its Environmentally
Friendly FlexGreen
The Kerfkore Company, a manufacturer of patented bendable substrates and panel products, just introduced
color literature on FlexGreen, an environmentally friendly product that can be used for radius applications as vast
as one’s imagination. It offers designers, specifiers, and manufacturers a quality bendable product that is better
for the environment and one’s health.
According to the literature, FlexGreen is ideally suited for producing stable architectural panels. The face, core,
and glue used contain no added formaldehyde so the entire product is free of any added formaldehyde. The
face is made from FSC certified Eucalyptus fiber hardboard attached to a particleboard substrate core that is
made from 100% recovered and recycled fiber. FlexGreen contributes to LEED credit points for MR 4.1, MR
4.2, and EQ 4.4.
Environmentally friendly FlexGreen allows for normal fabrication methods of attaching to a rigid structure and
then application of face material. It is designed to bend down to a 10" radius prior to lamination. Due to its
stable hardboard face, it is possible to laminate a single-ply veneer or other thin materials directly to the
hardboard by use of a cold or hot press. This process will result in a bending radius of 16" and 18". FlexGreen
is available in a choice of 48" X 96", 96" X 48", 48" X 120", and 120" X 48" size, all X ¾" thickness, and it
weighs just 2.4 lbs. per square foot.
