Avery Dennison Reflective Sheeting Approved by British Columbia for
Highway Signage
Painesville, OH October 1, 2007 - Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products Division announced today
that Omni-ViewTM, a microprismatic retroreflective traffic sign sheeting material, has surpassed specifications
and testing from the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation enabling it to be sold and utilized for highway
and traffic signage in British Columbia.
Omni-ViewTM reflective sheeting is a super-high performance, durable, microprismatic retroreflective material
suitable for high speed applications such as speed limit, warning and guide signs where long-distance brightness
ensures sign conspicuity and legibility. "This product was made with a driver’s safety in mind first and foremost,"
said Kevin Brinker, Product Manager for Reflective Products, Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products
Division. "Omni-ViewTM reflective sheeting is a robust material that ideally performs against competing
background light while drivers are on the road, allowing drivers greater visibility at long and short distances."
Other highlights of Omni-ViewTM reflective sheeting include:
Omni-directional and can be used at any rotation while still maintaining the same reflective performance.
Higher performance over a range of entrance and observation angles versus competitors, granting Omni-ViewTM
greater reflectivity at longer distances.
Reduced rainbow effect by 83 percent during daytime hours.
Ross McLean, Provincial Sign Program Manager for the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation, said, "We
are constantly reviewing products to ensure the safety of highways in British Columbia for our drivers. This
product line from Avery offers our sign makers an approved material that surpasses our standards to ensure
safe highway signage for our drivers in British Columbia."
