MACtac® Worldwide Graphics Awards Program is Underway
Stow, Ohio - August 1, 2007 - MACtac® Graphic Products has announced that it is now accepting entries for
‘MACtac Worldwide Awards 2008.’ Every two years, this prestigious program highlights high-impact visual
communication projects produced with MACtac pressure sensitive materials. The contest provides a unique
source of information on trends in visual communication and also promotes pressure sensitive films for the benefit
of the entire industry. Entries from all over the world showcase innovative applications for the sign industry.
"The first two editions of the program were extremely successful we received approximately 900 entries in 2004
and 1,100 entries in 2006," said Rick Moore, Director of Marketing, MACtac Graphic Products. "It’s a great
opportunity for companies in, or related to, the sign industry to showcase their talent and creativity."
‘MACtac Worldwide Awards 2008’ is open to projects produced in 2006 or 2007 using any MACtac Performance
Graphics, including IMAGin® wide-format digital media, Permacolor® overlaminates and mounting films, MACmark®
marking films and MACscreen® screen printing products. Entries may be submitted by sign-makers, converters,

‘MACtac Worldwide Awards 2008’ is seeking unique and impressive projects from all over the world. The program
is divided into three divisions, segmented by geographic region: North America, Europe and International (Middle
East, Africa, Central and South America, Asia and Oceania). Each division is assigned an independent panel of
industry experts to judge entries in four categories: Vehicle Graphics (cars, buses, trucks, trains, planes), Exterior
Signs (billboards, buildings, events), Interior Signs (showrooms, tradeshows, shops, museums), and Technical
Achievement (3-D shapes, large-scale projects, other demanding applications).
Entries
All that is needed for consideration is a description and photo of the job, as well as a brief reasoning as to why
MACtac material was selected. Information on program rules and official entry forms, which must accompany
every entry, is available at http://www.mactac.com/nc_awards2008. Entries may also be obtained by contacting
a MACtac sales representative at 866-622-8223.
Judging
Each territory has its own judging panel to ensure entry evaluation is according to the commercial and cultural
references operating in each territory. Judges range from editors of leading sign industry and digital publications
to independent experts in the fields of design, digital printing, sign-making and application.
Criteria
The independent jury will evaluate entries in each territory using the following key criteria: creativity, visual
impact and technical achievement, including converting and application skill. Judging will be based on job
complexity, size, project organization and efficiency.

One winning entry within each category will receive a $3,000 cash prize. In addition to category winners, first-,
second- and third-place winners in each territory will also be awarded cash prizes. For the North America region,
first-place winners will receive $1,500, second-place, $1,000 and third-place, $500.
