EFI Debuts Next Version of Logic MIS Software
Connect - Las Vegas - June 11, 2007 - EFI (Nasdaq: EFII), the world leader in color digital print servers,
superwide format printers and inks, and print management solutions, is debuting the upcoming version of its
Logic SQL print management software at Connect 2007, the printing industry's largest user conference taking
place through June 13th at the Wynn. The next version of Logic SQL will offer estimating improvements, tighter
integration with the PrinterSite® portfolio, integration to Manhattan Associates warehouse and fulfillment
solutions, and first-time super-wide format support.
EFI Logic SQL combines end-to-end integration of the print production process with a powerful set of data
collection tools, with applications covering every business function from estimating to billing, order entry to
shipping, purchasing, inventory control, finished goods, accounting and more.
In the upcoming release, several changes have been made to Estimating 3 that have been positively received
by beta users. Primarily, the main screen has been re-designed to display all key information, making it much
easier to understand what is happening with the progression of the estimate and easier to spot mistakes. And a
new component type to handle super-wide format estimates has been added. In addition to estimating changes,
another core system enhancement has been made in JobVista to allow for Tracking Revisions, which has been
a longstanding customer request.
J & A Printing is a full-service commercial printer and mailer, and has been beta testing the upcoming Logic
release. "We're particularly excited about the estimating changes - the new user interface is a big improvement
and is already impacting our efficiency," said Randy Boyle, General Manager. "We're also pleased with the
finished goods enhancements that give us greater control in PrinterSite Fulfillment."
As part of the ongoing integration of all EFI MIS solutions with add-on products, Logic customers using web-to-
print PrinterSite solutions will gain added capabilities and time-saving features - many the direct result of
customer requests.
* For PrinterSite Fulfillment users, they can now use lists from USADATA, view backorder workflows, and
upload multiple files. PrinterSite Fulfillment is EFI's web-based, client-facing module that helps printers streamline
inventory management and offer value-added online fulfillment ordering services to customers.
* PrinterSite Internal delivers a powerful Web-based tool for the "internal" team, enabling them to submit
specifications, receive and review quotes, submit and monitor orders, and review job status and invoices. Logic's
PrinterSite Internal customers will now be able to produce custom order forms, provide multiple letters of quote,
and generate improved status e-mail messages.
*PrinterSite Exchange provides Logic users with a customer-facing digital desktop for specifying, ordering,
planning and invoicing jobs. This release of Logic provides full integration with PrinterSite Exchange 3.0.
In addition to PrinterSite integration enhancements, the future release of Logic includes phase-one integration
with Manhattan Associates' ILS Warehouse and Fulfillment solutions. This integration expands Logic's ability to
streamline the management of large finished goods inventories, providing new support for complex warehousing,
picking, shipping, costing, invoicing and updating of inventory records.
The upcoming release includes support for super-wide format estimating and job costing including enhancements
to the Logic Quick Quote module.
The future version also enhances the digital workflow with the EFI Fiery® print server. The content file is now
carried by Logic, allowing seamless communication with the Fiery, providing an automated link between the
management system and the Fiery production engine. This link streamlines the communication process, improving
workflow speed and accuracy. This workflow was demonstrated recently as part of a GATF "Implementing
Process Automation" event.
Maureen Sheldon, EFI Logic product manager, said: "The upcoming release of Logic focuses on customer
-requested features and builds on the integration work of the past several versions to ensure users have the
most robust and reliable business management system in the marketplace."
