Astrup Adds New Colors to Weathertyte Line
CLEVELAND, OH (May 15, 2007) – Weathertyte, a truly weatherproof material, is now available in 20 color
choices, with the addition of six alluring new colors to Astrup’s offerings. Designed for use in awning and sign
applications, Weathertyte has the look and feel of a decorative fabric, with all the weather-resistant properties
of a high performance composite vinyl substrate. Manufactured by Cooley Sign & Awning Products, the fabric
is now available in Beige, Coral, Mauve, Platinum, Slate Blue and Terracotta Red.
Weathertyte has built a reputation for being durable and beautiful at the same time. While projecting the
appearance of a woven fabric, this vinyl-coated polyester with its acrylic topcoat lacks the weaknesses that
can often affect a fabric’s performance and appearance. The fabric resists sagging better than woven acrylic,
is waterproof and resists stains and mold.
Designed for a variety of awning applications, including residential, retail, restaurant, hospitality and office
buildings, Weathertyte is flame resistant, easy to handle and heat sealable. The fabric is 16 ounces per square
yard, available in a 74-inch width, and is backed by an eight-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.
