Kerfkore Company Introduces New Flexboard Literature
Kerfkore Company, a manufacturer of patented bendable substrates and panel products, just released new
literature on its Flexboard, a bendable substrate with a hardboard face that can be formed first and laminated last.
Flexboard is a low-cost alternative to bending plywood for radius fabrication that provides 10-inch radius
fabrication quickly and easily with no sanding, patching, multiple layers, special installation, or odor. Flexboard
reduces cost, scrap, and weight and can be used for radius applications as vast as one’s imagination. It can
be bent and attached to a ribbed frame easily with staples and nails.
Flexboard is an eco friendly product with a NAF face material and core made from 100% recovered and recycled
fiber content. Available in nominal, 4’ X 8’, and 8’ X 4’ sizes with a particleboard, MDF, or plywood core and
a .080 thick hardboard face, its hardboard surface is ideal for painting or laminating paper, vinyl, veneer, HPL,
and metal. Flexboard is calibrated for uniform thickness throughout the manufacturing process. Consistent
thickness results in excellent seam hiding qualities without filling or sanding, its seaming abilities allow for easy
splicing in both the vertical and horizontal direction. Flexboard’s substrate allows for repeatable symmetrical
bending. Its stable hardboard face allows the attachment of face veneer materials, by use of hot or cold press,
and then bending into the desired shape.
The literature also contains detailed product specifications, which include Flexboard product descriptions,
product characteristics, core options, bending capabilities, product classifications and dimensions, as well as
recommendations regarding adhesives, temperature conditioning, laminating pressure, handling, and storage.
